Hey all - just bought a 2012 TL with advance, and when I put the car in reverse the backup camera comes on instantly but the backup guides sometimes take up to 5 seconds to come on. Usually this is only when I first start the car.

Anyone else experiencing this?

 

It's from the nav system needing to boot up.

 

i believe this is an issue to all new acura's.

i had several loaner cars from acura and they all do this.

it open happens when you start he car and put it in reverse really fast. your not giving the car enough time to load the navi

 

If your backup lines are not coming on I'd say you are dropping it in gear way too early... Maybe newer cars don't matter but I have always been of the mindset to let my car run for a few seconds before I put it in gear.

 

My wife's 2010 MDX shows the lines immediately, definitely more responsive then my 2012 TL..

 

mine does the same, I believe it's mentioned in the manual that it's normal to do so

 

My 2010 Tech is the same way. This is normal behavior.

 

Mine does it too.
