2012 TL 3.7 AWD 6MT Cluth + Flywheel Replacement @ 81k

I'm currently in need of a flywheel. I've purchased the Clutch Disc + Pressure Plate and req'd bearings, in hopes it was all that would be needed (OEM from Acura) - but I've found that I will unfortunately need to replace my flywheel.

Has anyone found the OEM flywheel, or sufficient alternative online for a decent price? So far I've been able to find the OEM online for $1500-/+, but have not been able to find out who's the OEM manufacturer. EXEDY? AASCO?

I have browsed through these forums and have found somebody whom said they have had their flywheel resurfaced, although located in Massachusetts I have not been able to find a shop that would be able to do so due to the fact that it's a dual mass flywheel. My mechanic also states that it has a heat crack and that regardless it will continue to crack and erode my clutch disc.

If anybody can make a recommendation to help me save some cash here that would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the original is EXEDY but I don't know if there's a source. Maybe you can be the guinea pig and find out if they'll sell it directly?

Shoutout to spakhnyuk for the awesome pics and info from that thread.

There is a company called AASCO. The website says they have that flywheel. Website is Aasco Motorsports
I would double check with them if it really fits our TLs.

Unless you are doing serious burnouts that's unacceptable.

I installed an Aasco aluminum single mass FW

The Aasco works great. No chatter as they claimed I would experience, no change in drivability, no learning curve just OEM feel and for $1000 less than.

Best part about it is next time if they still make the part all I have to buy is the friction plate. And with these cars the damn clutch goes fast. I was second owner with only 60k on odometer and no idea if it had been replaced before and yeah I drove the hell outta it but no strip runs , no burnouts, just alot of down shifts which I always rev matched and Skipping gears. No more of that. Hopefully it will last longer this time. It's AWD and heavy as hell and with that going against it, pretty peppy so I guess I can't compare it to other manual shift cars I drove.

You're the man Craig thank you. Just curious did you replace it yourself or have it done at a shop... I may be crazy enough to tackle a clutch and flywheel replacement in this car

Done by a mechanic doing Side work at a dealership

Do NOT try this on your own. This job is insane apparently. I was told it took over 9 hours with a certified mechanic with every tool and a lift. Another thread said it took him two days with a buddy and he called the job "a mutha fukr". I was thinking I would do it on my own too but now I'm glad I didn't try. My reverse lights won't come on and my mirrors don't tilt and my camera won't come when I reverse now so something is disconnected. Trying to figure it out now. May have to bring it back to the dude. Point is, it's a pretty rough job

There's a reverse sensor on the transmission that controls all that - it's like one wire. Hopefully it's an easy fix.
