Good evening

I recently purchased a 2011 Acura TL fwd non-tech (currently 22,700 odd miles). My question is when the speed ranges from 30-50mph I hear this "chugging" sound. Whenever I accelerate the sound goes away. Any idea on what this could be?

Can't say I've ever heard a noise described that way. May need a little more description in order to help you. Is the noise constant or intermittent? Does is vary based on engine rpm or vehicle speed? Can you tell the general direction of the noise?

 

ShadeTreeMech, thanks for responding. The noise is intermittent. It sounds like it's trying to find the right gear.

 

I have the exact same problem that has started in my 2012 AWD Tech. If you watch the RPM gauge it begins surging about 200-300 RPM like it's trying to upshift but then downshifts again. While it's doing this i'm generally noticing i'm on a slight incline. I'm taking it back soon to be looked at, the only problem is the closest dealership is 1.5 hours away
