2010 AWD - AT - 3rd gear drops then climbs after shift

Hey guys,
So here's a question for the other 4th Gen owners. I am noticing something weird with the car under heavy acceleration. Here's what im doing:
Put the car in Sport mode but im not using the paddle shifters. I make my foot meet the floor and I ride out each gear. 1st is smooth, 2nd is just as good, as soon as I get to 3rd, right after the shift and the car continues to accelerate, for a split second the cars RPM's actually drop about 400 RPM then go back to climbing up. Now, before someone says the RPM's are supposed to drop when it shifts, that's not what's happening... it simply goes up slightly like its supposed to, drops a few hundred then goes back to climbing.

The tranny is not slipping, it would be spike not a drop.

Any thoughts? Ideas? Similar experiences???

Other than than, I freakin love this car!

Thanks in advance.

No, I mean it's nothing I can find here on the board anywhere, or at least that has ben posted about yet. It may be a glitch in your programming. If you can reproduce it, bring it to the dealer and have them handle it.

Yeah, I didn't see anything either. I will eventually bring it in for it. Not yet though, I want to see if anyone else has this happening to them before I go down that road with the dealership.

ChuckyD,

I feel like this happens to me too except not as soon as it shifts into 3rd but it DOES happen in 3rd. Mine feels almost like a flat spot in the acceleration, as if the car struggles momentarily to get beyond that point. Don't know exactly at what rpm it occurs at but I'll try to take notice of the exact point. Sound similar to you?

I Love my car too EXCEPT for a DAMNNN RATTLE THAT DRIVES ME ABSOLUTELY EFFIN NUTS. Sounds like its coming from above me(Sunroof area) but i CANT find it. Took it to dealer once, they said they replaced my whole roof liner but I doubt that and they didn't fix it. Any threads on here about this? Sorry for changing the subject.. lol

Bingo! Pretty much what im describing. It doesn't happen immediately after it shifts... it accelerates for a little and then it happens around 4k RPM, I believe. Ok, this makes me feel a little better, in a weird kinda way. I was thinking it has something to do with Valves or something? Something to do with the VTEC adjusting down from when it had just kicked in a few seconds prior? I dunno.. im reaching here.
O, and my sunroof doesnt rattle... i think. I always have my radio on so i dont hear much... lol. But now you have me curious, im going to ride with it off for a bit tomorrow morning.

Mine is doing that also in S mode and 3rd gear only. We had an 03 Murano with CVT and it acts just like it sometimes (very minor slipping).

Spoke to the Acura techs this AM... he seems to think its something in the programming of the Tranny. he said he would look for an TSB's on it, etc and let me know. I dont think there is anything yet though, the car is too new. I'll let you know how things unfold. In theory, i shouldn't be racing anyway, so im not going to hammer them on this issue too much as the car is still quick as is.... lol I can live with this, for now...

Doesn't happen when the car is in D, only in S. I realized that yesterday...
