09 SH-AWD - VSA / ABS lights ON + car won't start
Hello all,
My buddy called me last night to tell me that his car was driving funny and that the VSA and ABS lights came on along with some other warnings from the MID that he didn't remember. He told me that he pulled over and shut the car off, but then the car wouldn't turn back on after...
It is an 09 SH-AWD TL with about 90K miles. It was bone stock before I installed a Takeda intake from him a few weeks ago. I asked him to check the intake plumbing to make sure everything was still connected and tight and he assured me it was.
I told him that these cars are notorious for propeller shaft problems and torque converter problems and also for eating oil. Because he said the VSA and ABS light came on, I think it could be a TC issue, but I haven't heard of anyone not being able to start the car.
Anyone have similar experience or knows what this could be???

He told me that they tried to jump-start the car, but no success. He also said all the lights work in accessory mode too, so I don't think it is the battery.

If the Takeda intake somehow sucked in too much extremely hot air, it is expected that the car won't start. Lift hood, let it cool down and try again. It may be some vacuum leak somewhere that sucks in extremely hot air. But, as mentioned before if the battery in there is still the OEM one from the factory... chances are its dead. If it is the OEM, surprised it lasted that long LOL. If you have a multi-meter try to see how many volts are on that battery.
