Talking Custom L.E.D strips

Just though I would Share my led lighting upgrade... I removed the cover and wired them in neatly to my parking/signal lamps...

I like the look but I had those in 2009 and had to remove them because it's illegal in NY state

nice. don't think they'd be an issue in Toronto. Loads of cars have the LED strips.

I would love to do it to mine as well, did you buy the strips locally? if so where, and did you end up doing it yourself?

Exactly a lot of cars these days come with the leds from factory... Funny thing is I was at Walmart getting car soap and noticed they had a ton of different led strips.. Tons on colours and sizes... I picked up a set of 12inch strips and did it myself... Removed the front cover and took out the lamps to make 2 slots to feed the strips through,so no wiring would show and to have it
Look as clean as possible...

A suggestion... You can use black vinyl wrap to cover those long ass reflectors. I did it a while back and it looks way better. I wrapped all the way to the area that had the actual lights. That way I get the look of the awd lights without spending the $300 or so it costs to swap them out.

Also don't want to hurt your feelings, I'm not trying to hate just offer some advice. I don't like the placement of those lights. Its really jarring and seems out of place. I'm all about lighting mods but they have to flow with the design of the car. I would suggest trying to find some LED strips that are shorter and can fit under the blinker and above the fog light. Probably about 6 to 7 inches long. This way they are not over powering and they would flow better with the lines of the car. Good luck on your progress!

Something kind of like this (KB1Spec's car)

No offence taken at all... I already planned on doing the lamps in black vinyl when I get the roof done.. As far as the size and placement , that's the exact look I was going for..I use them more as a running light , so I prefer them brighter... It's just personal preference and a little mod I started on a day off work

I actually wired them into my parking/signal lights... Pretty easy, once you have the cover off just splice the wires into the harness that connects to the parking lights/sockets... Since the harness carries 3 wires on the signal , you can wire them to come on when the parking lights are turned on , or you can wire them to signal when you indicate ... It's pretty straight forward, just use splice them in properly and use a soldering gun and shrink tube..

Hey Matt you said you used black vinyl wrap to cover those long ass reflectors? You have any pics? Because I been trying to find a way to do something with those ugly ass reflectors on my 09 Tl.
