did you do it yourself or pay to have it done??? looks VERY nice.

assuming you do this yourself - care to share what kind of paint you used, how much prep you did, and how long it took??? if that was doable in a few hours.. i'd try it on my car.

My Son payed someone to do this. It's a powder coat so you probably can do it your self if you had the equipment.

I love this look and this completely changes my mind about getting my valve covers powdercoated wrinkle red (which would be a huge PITA because of the removal of so many parts). I also was considering getting the metal Acura symbol in the middle of the intake manifold dipped into a neo-chrome coating (for that rainbow of colors effect)

Sent you a PM about the IM.

Just to let you know mods don't like you posting for sale outside of classified section. They want you to make a for sale thread under classifieds section. Just a warning before mods come in.

Any idea if they had to take the two IM halves apart to powder coat? Or they just powder coated the whole piece minus the bolts. (Obviously not including the IM cover)

They definitely did not take it apart. One negative about this IM is that because it is glued together you can't really perform a proper port job.

Powder coating process is around 400°. And it is an electric static process. ...... wonder how the powder reacts with the glue. Wonder what that area looks like. Electric static doesn't work well on non metal objects.

There isn't really any glue on the outside, just the inside. Would assume the glue can handle heat since it is in engine bay.

I tried contacting swaintech to coat my 3.7 IM. They turned me down and said they will not risk something happening to the glue and also that they don't coat magnesium.

Hopefully I can powdercoat instead of spray painting every year or 2.

Keep looking for somebody who knows how to powder coat magnesium. So far no problems with my Intake. So it is possible to powder coat it. Maybe you have to bake at lower temperature.

I should have pointed out Swaintech does ceramic coating, flow coating, etc. It was not for powdercoating. Not sure how much different those coating processes are versus powdercoating.

Have a few local powdercoaters I will look into.

I do powder coating. I just did my own 3.7 IM and Cover plate.
I also just started a face book page for friends. JB Powder Coatings.
