Mods

Hey guys I have a 2012 Acura TL Elite with a aerokit on it and was wondering what are some engine mods I can do that are simple and that can add power. Im planning on do a Takeda intake and also a catback exhaust with J pipe. Can you guys le me know of any others? Also I know this is off topic in the wrong section but I was thinking of making my turn signals of my tail light LED. Would I need the amber LED? Also I was thinking of redding out my whole tail light except the reverse light. If I do that would I need a white LED bulb then? Lastly, are the brake lights on the TL's already LED?

Our XLR8 crank pulley would be a great way to free up some power. Our pulley is CNC machined and 0 gram balanced for great fitment and performance. It's a simple bolt on installation that allows you to reuse your oem drive belt.

Catback won't really do anything without changing your pre-cats. Either pre-cat deletes or high-flow precats (depending on what type of emissions you have in your area). Also, it is my feeling that anything you do to this car will have little to no help unless you get a tune (K-Tuner). Although light-weight items such as pulleys and wheels will help.

The pulley will free up 5-10 horsepower, and the catback will provide the same gains. Our V2 J-Pipe will provide roughly 20hp and the Ktuner is definitely a great way to go. With HFPCs and the Ktuner, we've seen dyno results of 15 more horsepower and 24 torque.

I am about the buy K tuner. However, I don't know any tuner shop in Irvine California region. Would anyone know any shops around either Irvine or Orange County region?

You don't need a tuner to load the basemaps, but see how far away Kevin Valdez is if you want a custom tune, kvtuned@gmail.com, or talk to Kenny from TurbogixxerTuning.com if you want an e-tune.

HFC, Exhaust System, J pipe.... IDK about the pulley. it's hit or miss. And from what I been reading if you can't get the ice box get a k&n drop in filter and Ktuner.

Is there any negative effects that can occur with the crank pulley? Such as damage to the motor, etc.

Note I'm not an expert, but I've seen these defended a handful of times.

As long as it's not an under-sized one and it's just a lightweight one it should be fine. Some motors don't have any other balancing internal to the motor however the word on the street is the J series we've got is good to go.

Here's a thread about them on AZ

^ That is correct. Our stock diameter lightweight crank pulley will not cause any issues as long as it is installed correctly. These J series engines are internally balanced.

I don't have any numbers to prove it but after changing to lightweight pulley difference is considerably noticeable.

I've installed a bunch of XLR8 products especially the Light Weight Stock. Diam. Pulleys on the 3G TL's and every1 including myself is impressed.
Xlr8 is quality ! Can't go wrong.

Op - on the 4g I would honestly do this :

Xlr8 crank pulley stock Diam, ct cai, PCD's , xlr8 j-pipe, xlr8 cat back, k-tuner.

If your on a budget leave out the xlr8 j-pipe. And do the rest ^.
Just my

I run all 3 pulleys, makes a huge difference in how fast the car rev's. It's a low HP bump mod, but it makes power throughout the band.
