CTE Ice box or stock for KTuner

So I just got around to installing my HFPC!!! Now I'm going to get a tune done (I have KTuner software)... I purchased and installed the CTE Ice box a while back, and I'm not sure if I should leave it in and get the tune done, or switch back to the stock intake before getting a tune done.

Thoughts from those who have done the tune?

Current mods are HFPC, j-pipe, HF 3rd cat, ATLP cat back.

Thanks in advance.

Once you have the car tuned by a professional it hardly matter whether you run your current set up or switch to the stock intake.

The tuner will do MAF calibrations, adjust your timing,RPM limit, A/F ratios etc to ensure that all your parameters are as they should be and that you are making safe power. I have heard that the stock intake will slightly outflow the aftermarket intakes so it may offer a slight advantage. However Imo,it would be minimal at best.

The car needs to get tuned, once you install and run the K Tuner software you will see some issues (running rich, knock etc) pop up on the data you record.

Of course, many people would like to get their hands on an IceBox so you could put it up for sale and run the stock intake if you wish.

That said, I am tuned with the CTE and I am happy with the performance of the car.

Thanks KarKraze! After spending hours trying to get the rear pre-cat out of the car, I think I'll just leave the CTE IceBox in.
There is a tuner here that has an AWD dyno, so I will check with them to see if they can do the tune.

From experience, CT-E > stock. Airflow and velocity are both greater with it.

What "Heart" said. Initially there was some mention of inconsistencies with the size of the MAF housing on the IceBox. Once you have a tuner that can calibrate the MAF you will be fine. That's where having a professional tune the car will be worthwhile.

This is true in terms of reliability. If your looking for a few extra ponies, you'll want to have a aftermarket CAI installed!

That AEM intake is only for 04-08 TL not the 09+.
