Question Anyone running the underdrive UR crank pulley?

I've seen everyone talking about the stock diameter lightweight UR crank pulley but no one has mentioned the underdrive one. Anyone using it on their 4th gen TL?

Honest question; why would you want to UNDER DRIVE your accessories?

I believe the Underdrive and the stock sized UR crank pulleys weigh the same, or the weight difference is negligible, so no point in really going for the under drive pulley.

I had the underdrive UR crank pulley in my 2001 CL Type S for years until I put the supercharger in and never had any problems with it. Just wondering if it works just as well for the 4th gen TLs.

pretty much the same engine in the CL as the 4G TL.

it uses the same crank pulley.

I wouldn't run a "lightweight" crank pulley that doesn't have balancing/dampening effects....

The stock diameter pulley will still provide some great results. It weighs significantly less that the stock pulley so you have less rotating mass. You'll notice the RPMs will move quicker and you'll gain a few horsepower. The nice thing about the stock diameter is you can use your oem belt.

If you're looking for underdrive, I recommend the UR pulley with the belt which we have in stock and can ship right away. Underdrive pulleys basically shorten the travel of the belt and can again increase horsepower and responsiveness.

I had it on my 3g. I didn't feel a whole lot of difference but the RPMs were quicker. I only got it because it was a good deal, if I had my choice I'd rather have the stock sized one.

I had the UR XLR8 lightweight crank pulley for my 3G TL and I started having a squealing noise when I would turn on my AC. I would replace the belt and it would go away but eventually come back. After I put my stock pulley back on the noise went away completely with the same belt.

I found another guy on YouTube that had the same problem with his 09 V6 Accord, he ended up going back to stock as well.

Here is my video of what it sounds like

I also had the Crank/PS/Alt UR underdrive pulley kit for my 01 Accord V6 and had absolutely no problems at all. It might just be their newer stuff or maybe I just got a bad pulley.

The answer is simple. To free up drivetrain loss. And the difference is not negligible.

Weight can be, but I that depends on the initial weight of the item.

I just put under drive pulleys (power steering and water pump[I also put on a high performance endurance racing part to turn up the volume of flow])on my BMW and the difference was pretty massive. Car pulleys harder in every gear at every rpm. I was surprised.

Now every car has different engineers, and in my case BMW really overdrives their accessories.

Bumping my old thread because I have the underdrive crank pulley now but need to know which belt is needed. Anyone know? The one UR mention in the instructions is way too long and seems to be for cars with power steering.

So belt 4060440 ended up being a little too short even though that's what UR told me is the correct belt. 4060450 is the one the ended up working.
