advice on "chip" for my TL

i ama considering "chipping" my TL for extraq power but know very little about it. Here are some questions. Thanks in advance:
- what kind of HP boost can I expect?
- is there a noticable difference in 0-60?
- what is the cost range?
- does this invalidate an Acura warranty?
- are there reliability issues to consider?
- how do i find a shop to do this work (i'm in Salt Lake City)?
thanks

There are reputable companies out there that do ECU flashes, piggyback ECUs, and standalone ECUs. Hondata being one of the big ones for Hondas/Acuras. However, their (Hondata's) current focus seems to be on the K Series. I doubt you'll see them putting the R&D into the J37 to make a flashable upgrade.

Normally aspirated engines will get very little benefit from flashing the ecu with a different program. Cars with a turbo or supercharger see huge gains from a simple "chip" reprogramming.

ckreig, don't encourage fredjones... his comment on F/I really has no substance in this thread. We obviously weren't even talking about F/I and would prefer this conversation stops before putting any other kind of visions of grandeur in his head.

fredjones, come on man, you're a 10 year old member with 35 posts. You should be wise enough to know that nobody has ever "chipped" a J-series. You should try and teach valuable information that is appropriate to each category. This is the 4th gen TL category, not the Volkswagen Jetta category where your advice is applicable. If you were saying what you did just to show off, it really wasn't necessary. Is this why your post count is so low?

I'm surprised 037 didn't post a similar thread like this one that he put in the "RL" section. These pictures are priceless!!!

That is obviously not going to manage anything.

Anyway, if you get this, do take it apart.

This is hysterical! That "German Engineered" chip is awesome. I just went to the Ebay page. Unbelievably he has sold almost 400 of these and has 100% feedback. The notes on the feedback are funny. I am laughing at the thought of almost 400 people actually thinking this did something to their cars.

Many, if not all, of those feedbacks are probably faked. Scammers set up numerous accounts and artificially inflate the feebacks in an effort to generate more sales.

it's all psychological. If they pushed themselves to believe something this cheap can do something, they might as well push another foot to believe it after install, if they are smart enough to do it without damaging their vehicle...
