Plug ipod into USB, make sure power is on, set the stereo to "USB". Should work.

Sleeper... do you have the tech model? if so you hit the HD/AUX button a couple of time until you see the USB come up on the stereo interface. If you don't have the tech model, I have no idea.

Do you have the Tech model (GPS) or not? If not, I think someone with a non-tech model will chime in.

Like CerberusKy said, you may need to cycle through using the HDD button -- it goes between the hard drive, Bluetooth, and iPod, I believe.

Also, if you've paired the device with Bluetooth, Apple has an annoying "feature" to use the last detected connection. So, it's possible that the you're actually connected via Bluetooth, even if the dash says iPod. In that case, you can either change the output on your device, or you can unplug it and plug it in again. Or, you could cycle through with the HDD button until you get to Bluetooth.

I guess if all else fails, make sure that the radio is actually powered on, and that the USB end of the cable is firmly plugged into the USB output of the car.

What model iPod are you using?
and what does the iPod display when you plug it in?
have you tried any other things like a USB flash drive to see if anything else works via USB?

It sounds like something is wrong... I would consider a dealership visit.
