iPod playback distortion. Anyone else?

I have a new iPod touch 32GB, connected to my 09 TL via the factory USB port and using the apple iPod cable. I notice distortion when using the iPod. It's a high pitch tick at random times. No pattern, tick, pause pause tick tick, pause tick etc. I expected the playback to be near CD quality so I'm disappointed. Has anyone else experienced this? My next step is to try a different set up (ipod, cable combination). Thanks!

Nope, brand new Ipod touch purchased from Amazon. I'll make a post when I try my wife's Ipod.

I have only tried with my iPhone 4, but I have had the same tick issue. I need to try with the touch or nano. I will let you know.

Do you hear the same tick tick tick when you use bluetooth? Might try your equalizer settings on the pod/phone ?

Hmm haven't tried that. Not interested though. I want to use my iPod. I have a BB but I don't intend to use it as a music device. Thanks.

You realize the ipod Touch will communicate with the car stereo over bluetooth and stream the audio (at least on the tech package) and you'll get all your steering wheel controls for volume and skip, just not the playlist on the nav screen. This is what I was suggesting.
