Yes. That's right. iPhone 5 will not support video out over their new Lightning dock connector. The 30 pin adapter is not supporting either.

So only way of streaming the movie/video is to buy their Apple TV which is so stupid.

The current navTool of course won''t work with new iPhone 5.

Apple is trying to promote their Apple TV but this is bad.

I have had from iPhone 3GS but this is the first time thinking about switch over to Samsung Galaxy S3 or note 2.

I have a '12 TL Tech which is literally less than four weeks old. It has a USB connection in the console that recognizes when an iPhone or iPod is connected and lights up the playlist functionality in the Nav and all that.

If I use the new Lightning to USB cable that will ship with the iPhone 5, will I lose any of that?

We will know for sure next week...

There may need to be a software update for the entertainment system to make it work right, we'll have to see. Hopefully if that turns out to be the case, Acura will make it available quickly for us.

Yes. Let's see what happens when it comes out.

I am pre ordering the phone and will test it out. If I don't like it, I will just return it and get the refund. Will let you guys know.

True, but that's a downgrade in terms of audio quality and playlist flexibility, for those who notice/use it.

Not to worry, Lightning-to-HDMI and Lightning-to-VGA cables are coming:

I just got an iPhone 5 yesterday and it works fine with the car both via Bluetooth and USB. Full voice controls and everything.

Note that I had a Galaxy S3 before this phone and nothing worked via USB except charging, (VERY slowly, about 10% per hour) and Bluetooth disconnected on me while listening to music 3 or 4 times, randomly, on a 3 hour drive home from Chicago.

Good to hear. Does Bluetooth audio show track names with the iPhone 5?
