It would not be out of the question that you have a blown speaker and AM signal noise is causing something to resonate. That's seems to be a prevalent issue with the 4G where I heard that honda just got a bad batch of speakers from panasonic or something because I was also told that the 09 MDX is having bad speaker issues too.

I had my driver door speaker replaced because when I play music with a lot of bass, I hear a mild rattle coming from that speaker. It works great now.

I've had issues with my entire driver's side (front & rear) speakers going out, but only when I listen to music on my HDD. When I switch to my ipod or the radio, all the speakers work fine. This is just an HDD problem, and doesn't happen all the time, but I thought my speakers were blown for a minute there. Does anyone else have this issue?

Driver side speaker

Glad to know I am not the only one having this problem. Quality of the sound system was a factor in my purchase and I am disappointed although it sounds like all I need to do is get the dealer to replace the speaker.

This all has left a very sour taste in my mouth...

My front passenger speaker went out the day I took delivery of the vehicle. I was very dissapointed but dealer replaced the speaker in a very timely fashion.

I have problems also with some AM stations vibrating my speakers, sounds really cheap compared to how the same AM satations used to sound in my 3G .

MP3,DTS, DVD-A, XM and FM sound fine.

You have a problem, with one of your speakers. All my stations and sound sources are crystal clear. I only had a problem, like yours for when my passenger speaker was going bad. You should not hear any fuzziness or buzzing.

ive taken mine to the dealer twice now and they use that DVD-A disc to 'troubleshoot' and that's the only freakin input that DOESNT give me problems. of course, they say they 'cant reproduce the problem'. im about to just go to best buy or some place and pay to have them replaced.

A dealer showed me this, it was in ther service manual. With radio OFF. Push 1,3,PWR and the speakers should start to make a tone. Use the VOL knob to adjust the tone if too quite or loud. Use the skip button to go to the speaker that is giving you trouble. If it sounds distorted or much different than the others then there may be something wrong with the speaker. if the speaker sounds normal then, you guessed it, its not the speaker. To get out of the tone turn the radio off or just turn the car off. Also, you may want to adjust all your settings back to factory center. Any fade or balance, bass, treble etc.. will cary over to the 1,3,PWR test.

Nice find! That's a much better test than using any other audio source. Quick and dirty!

is there a similar test for low frequencies because some of our tls have blown drivers or passengers speakers. and this would help with that as well

I dont know of any similar test for lower frequencies. Its the same tone but I guess you could try to lower the treble and raise the bass a little and see if that helps. So... did this help you guys figure out if your speakers are the root cause?
