CompuStar/DroneMobile Remote Start
I'm thinking about getting this installed. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about it?

So I'm not real familiar with systems like these. It sounds like he said in the demo that the way the 4G is set up, the car will shut off when you enter it and you'll have to 're-start it via the push button ignition?

I have the compustar but without the drone and am not too happy with it. Few issues:
1. when handbrake is used and released then the car shuts off. Very annoying and I would even go as far as say dangerous. (manual transmission).
2. Trunk does not open with the compustar remote. Need to disarm, then use factory remote to open trunk.
3. If remote started car indeed does shut off once the door is opened. You need to restart again. This is because of the push button start.
4. Can not use the keyless entry by just using the handle to open. The doors will open but the alarm is not disarmed and siren goes off.

I think I got #1 kind of figured out. I changed the setting of the option 1-06. Now to set the reservation mode I need to hold the start button on remote for 2.5 seconds but I can use the hand brake no problem.
I played with various settings for the other issues but could to get them to work.

It's all about the installation. Sounds like he didn't program the trunk release. Mine works perfectly fine and disarms when i pop the trunk. The alarm also disarms if i press the button on the trunk itself. #4 is certainly an installation configuration. The reason i went with computstar is because you can program two wires on the brain for inputs to arm and disarm the alarm. I programmed both of them and hooked them to the wires that trigger the lock and unlock on the doors so I never need to use my remote if I don't want to. All of it can be done, just need someone that is knowledgeable on it.

I have an appointment set up later this month for the install. Pretty excited!
One other quick question....does the engine shut off feature work even while the car has actually been started with the push button start (as opposed to remotely started)? That would be a nifty feature to use in conjunction with GPS if the ride gets stolen. call the cops, find it moving, shut it down a la Bait Car. I figure it probably doesn't work, but it crossed my mind as a cool feature to have.
