CD Player in 2012 Acura TL Technology Package

I've read the specifications for the 2012 Acura TL with Technology Package to see how many CDs it holds at one time. I keep seeing it is a 6 disc unit but I cannot find how to load more than one at a time. Does anyone know if it does hold 6 and if so how to load more than one?

where did you read it's a 6 disc? it's only a one disc; but you can burn the CD's to the hard drive; so you can actually hold way more than 6 cd's in there

If i remember correctly, the Non-Tech car is a 6 Dics Changer. I believe my 2010 Base SH-AWD did not have the hardrive, but had a 6 disc changer.

Here are just two I found, the second one says 6 CD Changer. I realize these are not Acura sights but I was curious as I actually thought it had a 6 CD Changer. Maybe it was just wishful thinking? I had a TLS a fews years back that definitely had a CD Changer.

Acura TL BMW 3-Series 328i Lexus IS250 Audi A4 Premium
Radio AM/FM AM/FM AM/FM AM/FM
Cassette Player N/A N/A N/A N/A
CD Player N/A Yes N/A Yes
CD Changer Yes N/A Yes N/A
DVD Player N/A N/A N/A N/A
Navigation Aid N/A N/A N/A N/A

Standard features on the regular TL include full power accessories, leather upholstery, a moonroof, a 10-way power driver seat, an 8-way power passenger seat, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, steering wheel feature controls, a trip computer, driver and passenger seat memory functions, an auto-dimming reaview mirror, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a tire pressure monitor, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, chrome and woodgrain interior trim accents, keyless entry, 17-inch alloy wheels, halogen foglights, automatic xenon headlights, an anti-theft alarm and engine immobilizer, and a 276-watt, surround sound 8-speaker audio system with satellite radio, a 6-disc CD changer, an MP3/WMA player, an auxiliary audio jack, an iPod/USB audio interface and a subwoofer.

I also just realized the second post says 8 speakers and I have 10, so I guess the 6 CD Changer is the same info, not reliable. LOL

It has a hard drive so no six disk changer. Just burn the cps you listen to most to the hard drive.

CD storage limit on Hard Drive w/Tech Nav

Does anyone know approximately how many CDs the Tech package head unit can store? What is the size of the HD and is it upgradeable?

Just keep in mind that Acura only rips the CDs into lower res when you store them on the hard drive. Would love to meet the bright brains at Acura behind this.

I didn't even bother ripping and just got an iPod Classic 160gb to hold all my music in full glory.

Non-techs come equipped with a 6 disc changer without hd burning and tech/advance have singe disk with automatic hard drive burning. It makes sense when you think about it. My only wish would be if they designed the system to burn dvd-a's to the hard drive, but I suppose it would create a space issue, since most dvd-a's are about 4gb in their normal audio_ts formats.

Completely agree -- dumb idea to compress the CD files. They should give user the option of audio resolution for the HDD.

Having them being ripped to the hdd inside is just as good compression as standard mp3 quality you'd download and put on an iPod, do intact is very convienent.

Didn't know people still used CD's, but its good to know that if I wanted to, I can rip them onto my HDD.

Does anyone know how to erase the HDD? I inherited some music from the last owner and want to rid myself of it.

I thought my 2012 TSX technology had the 6 disc CD player too......but upon rereading the owners manuals I confirmed it did not....base models have it. Too bad .....I'm old school , I like my CD' s.
