Can you have the back up camera on, all the time?

I was wondering if there would be some kind've bypass option where the back up camera would be on, all the time?

I think it would be pretty cool to have a switch or option so I could see whats going on behind my back bumper.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sure you will get flamed for this being a distraction to the driver and being a silly idea, but if you understand how a low wattage remote wire works I'm sure it can be done.

I guess with the back up camera always on... he can see where he's already been and to see those flashing lights behind him.......

Not really because of the lens on the camera gives you a fish-eye view. Why do you need to see what's at your bumper when you are driving?.. that said, I think the thread with the NAVTOOLS has something for you.

You can have the back-up camera always on, but for that you have to go through the service menu.

Push cancel/map/menu buttons at the same time
Now you're in the diagnostic menu
select monitor check
then monitor adjustment

Et voila

Mirrors are a pain in the ass. you have to move your head a little to use them! It takes away from the cool beat

Hold down
CANCEL-MAP-MENU at same time till the service menu appears then select the rear camera adjustment and you can watch it live.

I use it for towing my jetski all the time.

I know this thread is super old but do you know what version of software you’re on? My 07 Type S doesn’t pull up the camera after clicking monitor adjustments

@Robbym This Cancel/Map/Menu key option only works on 2009-2014 TL. You may want to post in 3G TL forums.
