2012 TL navigation melt down
Has anyone had an issues with their navigation on their TL? Mine work great the first year and now it's a mess. It gets lost all the time and won't route the maps correctly. It has taken me on a 45 min detours to avoid the freeway. I reset all settings to default to the factory settings too. I am going to take it to the dealer but wanted to hear if any body has had an issue. I'm sure the dealer is going to tell me I don't know how to use it. I'm in real estate and use the navi everyday and it's making my life a living hell.
I can't comment on your problems, but it makes me curious that any navigation update that I want to buy for my 2010 TL will still be somewhat plagued with that same crap where it leads you 45 minutes in the wrong direction (which has happened to me, but I blamed it on the dated-ness of the software/hardware)
Check the navigation settings section regarding toll roads. I was going on our first road trip from Toronto to South Carolina and the navigation was telling go one way and google maps was saying go that way. The navigation was trying to use the avoid toll roads way to our destination.
I had checked those setting to make sure nothing changed and it didn't. I also reset the system to go back to factory but that did not help either. It is acting like it's avoiding areas but not set to. Also I will be on the main road and the map will show me driving through the nearby lake or mountain and it's telling me to go back to the main road.
My 2012 TL navigation system does the same thing. I will take me the longer way or try to make me go down local roads. I did a test used my Acura navigation and TomTom GPS which they both wanted me to go in different direction. The navigation was taking me the longer way and the TomTom was taking me the faster route. I don't trust the navigation in the Acura.
My nav system hasn't been updated since the original date of purchase. I could care less to be honest, the roads around my area aren't even showing up because it's new. I've just used my iPhone and Google Maps.

Finally made it to the dealer. No surprise I was blown off. It's works fine in town that I have noticed. It's up in the mountains that it seems to have trouble. The next time I have a client in the car and it goes out I'm supposed to drive it the 1 1/2 hours back to the dealer so they can see the problem.
And the side road routing issue instead of the direct freeway route is normal Acura programming. Funny my other 3 Acura navi's never did that.

Maybe I have to read the manual again, but I think the 2012 TL nav system is a joke. It's terrible. I doesn't allow you to enter complete addresses, it is total a mystery to use, and it suggest routes that are insane.
Big fail here

When I first got my car the nav system was flaky. I'm running the 2014 update (as is A32TL) and now it's MUCH better. I still concur that this system is now even as good as a Garmin but ..... The updates usually go on sale for $99 about this time of year. Perhaps soon.
SALE: I'm not advocating the value of an update. I'm merely stating that the 2015 NAVI updates are on sale. $99 + $3.95ship = $102.95
