VSA have any relation to TPMS??

Just wondering, the other day I tried to turn off my VSA, held the button, and nothing happened, have kept trying since then and no luck.

I have 20" aftermarket rims with no TPMS put in, so I am wondering is my VSA button or VSA itself messed up, or is there some sort of relation to TPMS and because I don't have them in, thats why its not turning off??

Kind of confused - please help

I'd be willing to bet it is tied in. But the best answer you can get would be from an Acura service rep. Call them when they open. They'll have the best answer.

Just found something in an off-hand way related to your question.. if you haven't already verified it another way. Your TPMS and VSA are directly tied in to eachother and VSA will not turn off if TPMS sensors are missing or malfunctioning. You need the sensors installed or you can use the existing sensors with the rebuild kit.

there's no relation. the tpms has its own little image on your gauge. vsa is always on; when you push the vsa button, you should see a little triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it. i don't own a 4g, so i can't be sure however...

If I may ask, why didn't you get new sensors or transfer it from the old one?

You're wrong, they are related. When my low tire pressure warning light came I was unable to turn my VSA off. I read on another post if you dont have tpms sensors you can trick the system. You have to buy 4 tpms sensors and put them in a pressurized container (sealed up pvc pipe with air inlet) and pressure it up to 32 psi. Problem solved.

It's true that you cannot turn off VSA if your TPMS are disconnected, malfunctioning, or if they detect a problem...which is why they are there and why they interact with the VSA.

You really don't want an owner to be turning off VSA if he has a tyre pressure problem.

I think that it's important to understand that our ability to turn off VSA is a concession to high performance driving, a concession to those of us who enjoy enthusiastic driving or who might go to the track occasionally.

Inasmuch as you can trail brake with VSA turned off, you would want to know if you've got a tyre pressure problem in one tyre or another.

I didn't bother getting TPM's for my aftermarket rims, didn't know the VSA had relation to TPMS, but I will grab them for next season for sure - thanks for everyones input
