Hi,
I'm about to get out of my 2nd TSX in a row -- great car! Acura is practically throwing the TL at me but I'm tired of the technology and possibly even Acura altogether. I test drove the TL, and I do like it, but I'm not in love with it.
I don't want to start another "which car is better" thread, but I would like to know if it's possible to take the new AcuraLink software and put it in the TL...if so it will go a LONG way in making me choose to get the TL.
My other concern is the pricing. Obviously nobody knows, but if it's only $100 more a month than I think that's worth it for the better navi.

The TLX will be a completely different car than the current TL.
Wait a couple more months, then you can test drive the real TLX to determine whether you'll like it or not.
No need to do any guesswork without the real car, at this moment.

Ya, that's how I'd *like* to feel lol but then there may not be any TL's left and I'll be out of luck.

It sounds like you have the answer to your question - get a TL.Originally Posted by AZDJedi

It does sound that way lol
But I'm not suppressing my true desire here; I would actually prefer what I imagine the TLX to be (yay for imagination!) over what I know the TL to be. If I could change 2 things about the TL it would be the software and more storage space. The software is a near deal-killer for me. And if it weren't for the crazy deal I'm getting I probably would just get the 328 or something.
2014 TL AWD Tech
$537 a month for 48 ($30 more for 36. Tax in)
$0 down
$100 + first due on delivery
I think that's pretty sweet considering I'm paying $575 for my current 2012 TSX Tech for 24 with ~$1000 on delivery!

I wouldn't say it's the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osborne_effect, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of other people are waiting to see about the TLX so I'm sure there will be more than a few TL's on the lot. If the TLX is going to be a hit, there will be great bargains on the TL, but if the TLX disappoints, you may need to move fast on the TL.

Just with that statement alone I would just wait for the TLX and if your not blown away by it move to another company don't even waste your time with the TL if you totally don't love it. Originally Posted by AZDJedi

Between 500-570 a month you have a lot of choices with other companies. Don't just get it cause it seems to be a good deal if you don't love the car. You should atleast enjoy and want what your paying for. IMO
Agree totally.
Before I got into my current TSX I said I didn't want another Acura, but the deal they gave me was too good to pass up. I didn't get it because of JUST the deal, though...I actually really loved my first TSX and the 2nd one was an improvement so I was happy.
This is a similar situation in that I still like the TL, but I think I like the 328 better. No other car I've tested has impressed me at all (they weren't luxury though, but still cost more!). So I *could* go with a Mazda3 (had one in 2004; 2014 doesn't impress me), or a Charger (meh, except for the power), etc., but even those lesser cars ended up being way more expensive after my loyalty deal.
I'm now leaning toward waiting. They are lightly pressuring me to snag the TL now, which to me may imply good things if I wait.

I've been down that road. I had an 06 TL loved it started having issues a lot of issues with the car and started looking at other companies. Everyone wanted to give me less than what acura offered so I went with the 2011 TL . Same thing liked it but didn't love it but because of the deal it was like why not.
I put tons of money into mod's to change my mind about the car especially when I started helping my wife shop for her car and I got to see different cars and get in them. I spent the whole year trying to trade it , samething nobody offered close to what acura would for the trade and incentives. A year later I traded it in for my current ZDX.
I loved it initially and still do but I'm pretty sure whether I keep it and pay it off or trade it in I'm probably going somewhere else.
Best of luck

The TLX should have taken the next step in terms of an engine. The 3.7 L although not as good on gas, has more power than the Direct Injected 3.5 that will be in the TLX. Question is do you prioritize fuel economy or power? I frankly don't care about anything other than the engine and driving characteristics. After my 4 yrs is up I am giving back my '13 t
TL and moving on. Acura lost an opportunity to please the S4/M3/AMG customers.

I'm with you Tolis. I don't care about gas; I don't mind getting 10L/100KM on avarage. I know I drive hard but as far as I'm concerned the extra bucks per month is well worth the enjoyment. As for the envirnoment...I won't touch that one here.

The new AcuraLink software will never be put into the TL. That will only be in the TLX.
I'm thinking the TLX will perform better since it will be smaller, probobly lighter, and have a new generation of the SH-AWD
Personally I like the quick access of the buttons to every function I can imagine (TL). With touchscreens simple operations can be tedious.

True. But I'd go for features over ease-of-access any day!
When you say "never" does that mean it's a complete incompatibility thing, or that Acura will never allow it? If it's just an "Acura preference" thing then I could still install it myself and revert it at EOL.

any one thinking the prototype will be what acura releases will be in for a bad time.
they just announced the rear end, and its not pretty.

What's not pretty about that? You can't even make it out, it's taped up :s
My simple opinion:
-Wait until the TLX comes out, see what options it has, see what the performance stats are (meanwhile, the TL will essentially be 'last year's' model even thougn it's a 2014, and they will be substantially reduced in price). Then make your decision: TL vs TLX vs another car company.
