Stone damage on the highway

I was driving to a business meeting and got nailed by something on the highway - and it broke the front passenger side turn signal cover. The light is still fully functional but it looks like ass.

I've emailed a few local dealers to price out getting it replaced. Anyone have any idea on what is involved to do the repair myself?

f**kin same thing happened to mine on passanger side fog and turnsignal both
to fix it i used clear carbon fiber vinyl and covered both turn signals . its not noticable now and it sealed it as well from water and dirt and looks good i will post a pic tommorrow

u should put clear tape on it for now to keep water and dirt from entering untill u find some blurry clear wrap

Simple and relatively inexpensive to replace, better there than on your windshield or paint.

lamin-x it next time.. that is what i did with my fogs and my turn signals.. not a single problem with chipping.

infact my turns signals will look new once i take off that thick layer of lamin-x

Quick question, if I wanted to Lamin-x my headlights, turn signals and fogs, what size would I need? I read that it's better to buy the universal films and then trace and cut to fit. Would two 8"x16" work?

get the universal.. if you mess up on a pre-cut there is no turning back.

use piece of paper, draw out the exact cut from your headlights, fogs, and turn signals, then lay them out on a piece of paper and see how much you need.

i dont think a 8x16 would work tho.

I agree it's better than if it had hit a metal body panel, but I guess "relatively inexpensive" is a subjective term.

I've been quoted $143.88 + 13% tax (welcome to Ontario) just for the part and quotes of $265 + tax and $295 + tax from two Toronto Acura dealers to replace the turn signal assembly. They must have smoked some of Rob Ford's crack because I can't envision I'm going to pay over $300 for a tiny piece of plastic to be replaced!

Perhaps I'll go the route of putting some type of clear wrap on it to seal it and conceal the damage - assuming light will still pass through it. Any suggestions on what/where to buy, would be greatly appreciated.

LADHAR - any pics you can post of your repair would be awesome.

What size do you recommend ordering?

Could go this route...

I wonder if that would stop a larger rock from doing damage?

I am in the camp of "whatever makes it easier"

to me, dropping the front bumper to get access to the backside of those clips would be the easiest.

if YOU think it's easier to stick your hand up there without dropping the bumper, go ahead!

I have the same problem on mine.
What's the part number ? At this price, it must be a full assembly and not just the lens cover no ?!

^ correct it is an entire housing and to replace it is only 1 bolt behind the front bumper. I had to replace mine recently due to a lovely piece of rock.
