painted grill, headlights. Cost?

I will soon by buying a new TL. I have been browsing the forum for a while and know that I want to do something with the grille. I really like the ronjon's, but they are quite pricey.

I have seen lots of pics of painted grille's and headlights. How much are these mods costing? Unless they sell the one they have before I try and sell my car, I will be getting the White Diamond Pearl and saw one on the forum with a white painted grille and white painted headlights. Would love to do something like that.

Painted RJ grill will cost me $1,500 at dealer with guarentee to match color. (RJ will not guarentee color) Painting part of the grill at Precision Auto Body $475. Headlights? Priceless.

Or you could wait for the new Acura TL grill in 2012.

If you spend 38k on a 4G there is no reason why you shouldn't buy a RJ Grille. His Grille totally transforms the front end. The CBP colormatch is almost identical to the CBP OEM paint. Dish out the extra cash and go for the RJ. It will pay off from all the compliments you will receive.

Not true, I've seen it in person and it doesn't match. And if I spend 37K on a car I want every peice of that shell to match.

Obviously you didnt see that i said ALMOST Identical in my post. With that being said I have a RJ Grille on my 4G and you would not be able to tell it is not the Factory OEM CBP paint unless you were examining it with a magnifying glass. RJ's Grille is the best thing that happened to the 4G so stop knocking the fact that it has a slightly different color than the factory paint because really, you can barely even tell the difference.

Are you wanting to change out the OEM grille all together or have the Beak grille color matched? The cheapest route is to just have the OEM grille painted to match the car and I had it done at the dealer I bought the car from for just $140.00. But then I had it clear braw'd for another $125.00. I think if I shopped around could have found somewhere cheaper to have it clear braw'd so make sure you shop around, but definitely get it done to protect the investment.
Not sure about the headlights?

Going this route for painting the grille can you notice the paint not matching? Is your car white? This is what I really had in mind to keep the cost down, but I know the white is harder to match, but I bet that 99% of people would never notice.

Perfect match. Could not tell at all. You will notice a slite differnce in color match when/if you have the clear bra applied. But the protection is well worth it IMO.

I'm leaning toward painting the stock grille. Prefer to use OEM parts when available, although the RJ really has a nice look to it.

I love WDP with painted grille. I think it looks better than RJ on WDP.

I think RJ looks better than painted grille on black cars, especially CBP, but to me painted grille looks best on WDP, hands down.

Also, looking at it on sight might give different appearance because I was shocked by how good WDP with painted grille looks.

I was thinking of having the whole grille painted, not just the beak, but that looks pretty nice too.

A while back I went to a local Acura dealer and I saw the WDP car with just the Beak painted and it looked great and that's what I did with mine.
I also saw a dark blue cat with the whole grille apinted and that also looked good. The point is I think the whole grille looks better painted on a dark colored car.

Sorry, CBP is easier to match then BRP, PMM or GM. I love the RJ grill, just not the paint. Have you seen PMM in person?

There is nothing wrong with someone not agreeing with you. If he spent the money he spent on his car he has every right to say what he wants about it, as do you. When you buy his car for him, and put the RJ grill on it, you can tell him to stop knockin in it.

Ive seen how the grill doesnt match with paint and with alignment with the hood. For the price of that grill it should be perfect, or at least OEM.

And the RJ grill is not the best thing that has happened to the 4G, it would have to be the TEIN suspension

+1 for the TEIN suspension being the best thing that happened to the 4G

It has nothing to do with him not agreeing with me. Its just that I dont think he should be so concerned with a color match when the piece he is referring to is going to totally TRANSFORM his car.

2nd, Why the Hell would I buy his car when I already own a 4G TL? That just doesnt make sense idiot.

For you to say you have seen the grill and it doesn't match blah blah blah is even more ignorant because you have a CBP 4G which RJ colormatched the CBP Grille the best out of all.

There will always be aftermaket suspension for cars so Tein coilovers are def not the best thing that happened to the 4G. I have a FWD so I have had Tein Basic Damper Coilovers on my 4G for a year now and I love the drop, but seriously suspension is easy to come by.

I have had SOOOO many compliments on my RJ Grille, and I couldn't drive my TL without it so I will argue till the death that it is SO FAR (until ATLP Exhaust), the BEST thing that has happened to the 4G.

But hey, You like to put STICKERS on your car and watch Soft Porn so I understand your misconception.

Misconception? Are you sure you understand the word before you use it? Seems a little odd to me that you can't drive your TL without your RJ grill. I was unaware of the link between the grill and engine/ignition/driveline/steering. Rj grill must be the shit bra. Sorry if I hit a soft spot that got your panties all twisted, but there have been issues with other members who have the RJ grill complaining about it not fitting correctly and colors not matching. Maybe you feel obligated to justify your almost a grand purchase by defending RJ with all of your might. But it's really not that serious.

Your right it really is not that serious. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and mine is that I truly beleive RJ's Grille is a Must have for 4G owners. The guy is a genius. I beleive he fixed the fitmit issues after the first batch. My Grille fits very well and has no noticeable gaps. But to each his own if you want to keep your bucktooth grill that is fine it is your car. Maybe if you put a Tein sticker on your grill now that would look COOL. No for act like Da Kine ya Cuz.

I dont speak retard, so maybe you can translate for me lol.

But yes you are entitled to your opinion, but ill stick to the facts, and your FWD is weak compared to the SHAWD no matter what grill you put on it. Oh and I never thought about the TEIN sticker on the grill that is such a good idea, the smarts must come from Hawaii!

Well I thought since you put Tein Stickers on your window maybe you could stick some on your grill as well to spice it up a bit. Stickers go so well with the 4G wish I would have thought of that. You sponsored by Tein or are you just trying to let people know your cool enough to buy some high-end coilovers? Less is more buddy.

My FWD is Weak?
Murk called my TL weak. Oh no What will I do now?

^ Actually I think you may have paid a bit more for your coils than mine since mine were free...... hence the sticker

If thats the case then I understand. Yes they def were not cheap for me. To be honest if they gave me free Coilovers I would put the Tein Mascot guy on my windsheild lol.

But ya, enough of the bickering, we are both in the 4G family so lets just get along. Bottom line RJ Grille is a great product, but I understand your gripe about it not being Perfect for the price you have to pay. Guess it depends on the batch you receive. I absolutely love mine tho. Just wish he would make a Aero Kit for the 4G which from what he told me via email, he would not be doing.

^WHAT!!??!?!?!?! Hes not doing a areo kit??? Ive been holding out for that and not buying the OEM kit. DAMN IT lol. That sucks.

Yeah I wouldnt have put the stickers on if I had to pay for the suspension, but since they hooked me up I felt obligated. Plus, it doesnt look bad since its so subtle.... IMO lol.

Oh and I actually thought about putting the Dampachi in the windshield...... then thought a little more lol.

I sent him a email in August asking him if he was still planning on making a Kit for the 4G and he replied saying that he is not going to make a Aero-Kit for the 4G because it is too risky since the 4G is a low volume vehicle.

That really sucks because I was holding out to buy his Kit as well.

As for the Tein Sticker, it doesn't look bad I was just messin with ya. But a Dampachi on the windshield would def be going overboard lol.
