Oil Change?

For those who change your own oil. What brand filter do you use? What brand oil do you like? Do you change your washer everytime? How often do you change your oil, Miles or when computer says it due?

I have 09 with 7100 miles and computer says oil still at 40%.. thanks for your answers?

My first imported car and I love it. Just have to learn how and when to change the oil.

I always use synthetic (Mobile 1). Generally, your car will tell you when to change the oil. Going by mileage alone isn't a good indicator......driving style and climate have a big effect on oil consumption.

What oil should I use is about the most controversial topic you can bring up. Only thing with more opinions and less facts is "What oil filter should I use?"

Oh, OK, you got 'em both covered.

Change the washer every time.

What the Computer says. Although with 7,100 miles and 40% on the MID on the factory fill (or any fill for that matter), I'd be VERY tempted to dump it; thats a pretty long time. Lots of highway miles?

So far nothing is more controversial than: Do you like the exterior design of the 2009 TL?

If you change your own oil in the TL, how do you reset the MID or any other automated info? I thought it was all computer controlled and doing it manually would mess things up?

Habit. Also, I have a big stockpile of Mobile 1's in my garage that I've bought over the years I have to get rid of.

+1

Note: There is no "e" in "Mobil".

The correct viscosity for the '09 TL is 5W-20.
