And the key thing... it looks 100 times better in person w/ the blacked/cleared headlights!

SWEET BABY JESUS; that looks hot, Pete.

Haha, yea exactly... they're pretty much the same now

The install wasn't too bad, they wanted $350 initially, But I said if they can do it for $290, I'm in. I got a couple quotes and they were both around the $320-$350 price, so figured under $300 would be fine. They did a much better job than I would have done, moved over the weather stripping, and got everything lined up almost perfect, so it was worth it.

Next up will be painting the rear trim. That I'm going to try to do myself, get some matte black or dark gray and take my time on it. Basically do something similar to what ieh did. Going to wait until the summer to do my tails like yours... mainly because I need to stop spending money on my car (or so my wife says).

Haha, I think I'm only going to make one more mod this year, H&R springs sometime this summer. I need to redo my bathroom before my wife lets me continue car stuff. But then next year, watch out... By then we'll have the j-pipe, high flow cat, altp exhaust, intake (maybe more options)... Arg... it never ends!

Basically this year is looks (Grille, headlights, tires/wheels, springs)
Next year is performance

This is making think twice about the Ronjon Grill on the Palladium Metallic - perhaps it would look better in person - but from the pictures, it seems that it makes the car of that color look more plain.

The other cars - WDP, Grigio, Black - they all seems to be enhanced with the RJ Grill, but the PM - seems - dare I say it - "boring".

BTW, I have a 2010 SH-AWD Tech PM on order for end of March.

Thoughts?

I think they all look better with the OEM front spoiler. Without the front spoiler it looks too plain. With the spoiler, you're taking the car to a sportier position visually, IMHO.

The white car and the black car we see in the avatars both look very good, IMHO.

I went the other direction with my PM. The midnight chrome grille and OEM spoiler. I like it.

Spoiler definitely add to the look - looking into maybe getting it actually.

George, any chance for you to post some additional snapshots of your oem chrome grill - maybe, not too close so that I can get some perspective of what it does to the overall PM look.

Thanks much
d.

No updates on the fixes to the fitment? I am with the consensus that the RJ grille improves the front of the 4G a lot, and more so with the aforementioned front spoiler. However, the fitment issues are troubling. I don't mind gaps so much as consistency when it comes to alignment.... on many grilles the top middle aligns well with the hood, then when it gets closer to the headlights, it bulges upward.

Ron told us all like 2 months ago that he got the grille problems worked out. He simply enlargened all of the holes by 2mm and now it gives you or a shop the adjustability to adjust the grille for the perfect fitment.

Oh, nice! Good to hear. I haven't seen an RJ grille-equipped 4G in person yet, but in pictures its made me a believer. I can't stress enough the fact that initially I hated the looks with a passion, but it has grown on me since.

I had mine professionally installed by a body shop, and they were able to move the weather stripping over the headlights to the new grille, and were able to install it so that every gap is uniform (there will obviously be some gaps). The thing looks like it was made for my car.

Unless you are EXTREMELY handy, just go get it professionally installed, The guys that did mine did a way better job than I ever could have done.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I just don't like the RJ grille - it looks old style. I much prefer the OEM grille. But I respect the fact that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I saw a new TL coming up from behind me the other night. From a distance, I thought to myself what is that hot/mean looking car? As it got closer, I realized it was another TL. Even though the grille smiles at you, I think overall it's a mean looking car (something I like).

If you take a poll right now from everybody in the 2G, 3G, and 4G groups, I would bet over 95% of people would favor the RJ grill (with or without the logo) over the stock grill. The silver beak is what's turning people off from the 4G. Now that the RJ grill is here, look at all the posts from 2G and 3G guys lately who are now seriously considering the car. This is not surprising.
Now, if he'd just come up with a fix for the 4g's butt I might be willing to put one in the driveway. I agree totally that the RJ grill overcome 98% of my objection to the front half of the 4G.
