somebody just posted they missed their TL after they just bought a new infiniti.
if that's what you like...then hey...go for it! pricing on infiniti's...seemed to be higher with options compared to acuras. maybe they've changed since i shopped around for a new car.

I've owned three Infinitis and I like them. But I won't buy any car in the twilight of it's life. The current G is past it's expiration date and needs updating. Not a bad car, mind you. Just needs updating.

i went to acura for 2012 tl shawd with tech and the g37x with premium and navi package
a lot better price then what acura gave me and i have 3 more payments to go with this car
and Infiniti willing to work things out and will be paying less $100a month for same price of MSRP

It just mean you are getting older
I just bought yesterday a new 2012 TL AWD TECH A Bellanova White with umber interior
I owned a g37X AT 2009. Before this car i had 2 Tls 2005 and 2007.
I just changed not because i don't like my g37, but i wanted to change and not lease almost the same car for the next 3 years, And i know a new g is coming soon. Also i have a very good deal from Acura, with maintenance included, 0.25% rate, 25 months lease (in Canada).
Interior i haqve always regretted my TLs, I got used with g37 interior but really is not as nice as the TL. Exterior compare to 2012 Tl for me no love or hate for both. Just the TL is too large for my need and taste

Both cars are nice, but you need to ask yourself what your main priorities in a car are.
With the G37X, you will definitely get a more sporty overall car. It's faster than the TL in a straight line and more engaging to drive. However, the TL has better build quality and materials, a bigger cabin, better handling, and overall, offers a more refined experience.
If you like the TL more than the G and can afford the price difference, than go for it. If the difference in price is an issue or in your opinion not worth it, then go for the G. I honestly don't think Acura will be able to match the Infiniti lease though. Either way, both are nice cars, you can't go wrong.

TL 2012 SH-AWD TECH/UMBER
Here in canada it's different , infiniti is more expensive than Tl even after hard dealing. And infiniti can't beat the 25 month lease at 0.25%

TL 2012 SH-AWD TECH/UMBER
Seeing your age 28, it depends what kind of ''young'' you are. But the g37 is a car for young people IMO. Because it makes more noise, it pushes harder with little refinement, it let you slide more even with VSD on. It's a small car also, dependings on your family size it could be an issue

Why don't you go test drive both. Let your heart decide. And if your heart can't decide, then let your wallet decide. GL.

Infiniti is tough to beat when it comes to leasing, especially on the G. They are one of the more agressive when it comes to leasing. You might get close depending on how far the dealer is willing to go but the Infiniti will likely be cheaper to lease despite the fact that the sticker prices of the two are very similar.
I wouldn't be afraid to tell the dealer you could get the G for x amount of money and see what they are willing to do. Ultimately both cars have their strong points and are great values but $100 a month leasing can easily make all the difference.
FWIW, I checked the TL's lease rates this month and they stink by comparison. If you genuinely like the TL better, consider financing and even up to 72 months which might help close the gap. See what Acura has going for financing as there are some solid rates on new cars from many lenders. Bankrate.com can help.

Infiniti's G lease rates are sharp being they're going after BMW 3 series which offers pretty tough to beat lease rates. Plus I agree, the G is a little long in the tooth in regards to design. Hell, the G hasn't really changed too much since it launched in 2003.
From my experiance dealing with Acura, they were never very negotiable on new car prices or leases. Given the current state of our economy and lower sales numbers, I find it hard to believe Acura is not lowering their prices.
Maybe time to head to another dealership.

it's a car-drive it
I have never leased-drive too many miles
The nearest infiniti dealer is about 130 miles away from me.
Not too much luck with the 2 Nissans I owned=engine replaced under recall, numerous transmission replaced under warranty.
As others wrote-test drive both and decide which one you want and can afford

I leased an M35 and could not wait until the 36 months ended. Infiniti's
(including G 37's) are not as refined as Acura. My car was back in the shop for a brake repair twice and an interior panel was peeling off, so the fit and finish left a lot to be desired as well.

We don't know when will be the next redesign. It could be 2013, 2014, 2015, or even 2016. Nobody knows except Nissan / Infiniti. Also keep in mind, even if they have a redesign as a 2013 model, it is wise to avoid the first year model. Just my .

Mademoiselle Chanel!!
I'm just not sold on Infiniti, but wooosah and buy what you feel you won't have a problem sliding under the wheel for sometime and driving. Every morning I jump into my TL and I'm confident that it's going to perform how I like, ride how I like, and it looks how I like (OK, I like the way it looks inside and out so I had to get it in and fit it in the best I could).
Leases and buying...I never leased, my mileage is to sporadic and I've had a few family members and friends have some bad lease experiences. With that said, choose wisely grasshopper.

I've got one of each, 2012 TL SH-AWD 6mt, and a 2010 G337x w/Premium pkg. If it came down to $100 bucks a month, i would do the G37x. It's a great car, and $100 per month is quite a bit of $$$ when your talking leasing. You won't be disappointed. I love my TL, but there is something about the G, the noise, the pull, the snap your neck back power that i love. It's quite a bit smaller, and seats aren't as comfy. I love both cars, so we have 1 of each. Both serve a different purpose like some have already said.

in 2010, i narrowed my choices down to an infiniti G and an acura TL. I picked the TL because they offered a combo of AWD and a manual trans. I think Infiniti stopped making the 4 door G37x with a manual trans a couple of years before.
there are times when I wish I opted for a preowned m/t g37x....

My opinion unless you are leasing and the lease is up just keep your TL and wait for the next line up of cars to start rolling out i personally don't think jumping from a TL to the current G makes any sense and trust me i wanted to and glad i didn't also jumping from a 09-11 TL for the 2012 is also not a smart idea unless you just really really really like the minor redesign.
If you must must get another car though i would say do some further shopping. I don't think in that price range there is anything out right now worth taking on another car note or extending a car note out longer for but once again that is just my
But either way GL

Depending on if you are looking at the G sedan or coupe, the latest redesign was around 2009. Not too much changes. But if it was selling well, why risk changing it?

i had owned a 2005 G35 MT and never liked the car, never felt it had 300hp and had nagging issues and the manual transmission sucked, clutch was pretty bad.. may be the automatics are good.

The coupe was redesigned as a 2008 model year and the sedan was redesigned as a 2009 model year.

My sister owned/owns G35X's and I drove them and never felt comfortable in them. That's why I didn't buy my wife one and went with the TL.
I would by a new Maxima over a G37 to be honest with you. Now you know what to by next!!
I have owned a number of Nissans and do like them. This is actually my first Honda product and so far I'm liking it.

I agree the ride is less vault-like than the TL but as far as fit and finish -- these two models are on part.

I love my TL, and have never had brand loyalty. When I set out for a new ride I test drove just about everything with AWD in the 35-50K range. The TL rocked my world. I wasn't impressed with the G series, the Audi A6, BMW 3 and 5 series, Lexus (UGH, the worst), even tested some Volvo's...YUCK.
This search took 4 months, and I drove the TL last with low expectations. I didn't think any of these cars were worth their price tag. The TL had me 5 minutes into the test drive. The seats were comfortable, the cabin noise minimal, the tech excellent, the performance amazing, and heck, I even like the exterior.
Take LOOOOOONNNNNG test drives involving some interstate driving if you can. I think that's when cars show their true colors as far as practical performance and comfort.
$100 is a lot of money over the course of a year, but you only live once, so get what you'll enjoy every day.
Just for details, I'm 6', 285 lbs built like a tank so the larger interior of the TL was instantly gratifying.

I did have buyers remorse as I really wanted the 335, which was number one on my list, but needed to ratchet down the budget a little this year.

What you may be thinking of is when it's name got changed from G35 to G37. That was not a redesign, that was simply upping the engine from a 3.5 to a 3.7 and adding the 7 speed auto. But the basic car was not changed that year - it goes back to 07.
BTW, I'm talking about the sedan. I honestly cannot speak for the coupe as I don't follow the coupes as closely, but I believe it's redesign did come out in 08 as you say - but it followed behind the sedan, not ahead of it.

I went to the dealership today Infiniti and let me tell you that i was not impressed with the car at all
I would not compare that car to the TL
2012 G37x with navi and premium package with first month payment down of $469 a months and after that i would have 38 more remaining payments to go and they will take the 3 payments remaining on my TL that was the deal i got.
but i road test the car and its small comparing to TL my shoulders were on the "B" post and the other side was rubbing the salesperson shoulder, i told him take a look at the TL and he was like wow its is different
The quality of the car is not near the TL
too much road noise, really cheap built the lay out is trash inside the car
i personally would get a full loaded maxima then that car if i was to leave Acura
So i rather buy out my car then go into something else. Staying with Acura for sure
I went to Curry and they couldn't do anything cuz i got 3 payments remaining on the car
For 2012 TL shawd Tech if i was to have them take me out of the car they wanted $569 a month with just first payment to take from me at sign so i told them i will wait and if they have program to let me know.

I agree with you about interior (i have a g37x premium), and with years it becomes more outdated, it needs a refresh. But when i changed from TL to G37 i overpassed this and take a lot of pleasure to drive it.
I know what you mean about interior space, but go and try a BMW 3 series or an A4 and it's the same or worst
