I’m completely stumped here, so hopefully someone else has had this happen. So a few days ago I switched out the standard halogen bulbs for my drl/high beams for led’s. Ran them all day with no problems. Then that night when I parked my car, I turned the car off and lost all power, almost as if someone had just taken the battery straight out of the car. So I took the keys out, disconnected and reconnected the negative battery cable, and the car started. But now it has the abs/vsa lights on. I got the car scanned and got the 81-1 abs control module failure code. First thing I did was hit the forums. I found that if the battery gets low it can cause those lights to come on. So I replaced the battery. Still have error codes.
So I guess my point here is to ask a few questions.
1. Has anyone had this kind of issue with led bulbs?
2. Will a low battery actually cause these kind of error codes?
3. Does anyone have any kind of trouble shooting I can attempt before I have to get a new abs module.
I’ve checked all of the abs/vsa fuses. Both in the fusible link under the hood, and the single 7.5 amp under the dash. I also tried to jump the 4 and 9 prongs in the obd2 and do the abs/vsa reset.
Putco 289005 (9005 DRL) ~ seems like the VLED ones you mention in the post. Putco 280011 (H11 FOG) ~ these look exactly like 9005 but the connector is H11.
The ones I ordered included the anti-flicker module. You don't need it so order the one without and you won't have an issue. I have been running it since that post without issues.
1. Try to get a weave heat sink. There are no moving parts to breakdown. 2. Have a 7.5 fuse just in case there is a problem with the DRL not working later. 3. LEDs are the way to go. The technology has changed a lot in the last 3-5 years. They are much now much brighter than the halogens. Don't buy cheap ones, you pay for what you get.
4. DRL in low and high beam is still pretty bright compared to halogens.
Good luck with your troubleshooting. I am curious on how you solve your problem...

I figured it wasn’t the bulbs. They do have anti flicker and haven’t caused any issues other that possibly this. I’m thinking it’s just a bad coincidence. But I figured I’d see if anyone else has experienced this. I’m honestly just happy I’m not the one that broke the car lol. So I’ll probably have it brought to Honda and have them figure it out. I very much appreciate the reply, and I’ll let you know what it was once I find out.
LED's can cause issues due to their resistors to keep "check lighting system" off and they can have some interference. Happens all the time with LED bulbs for homes and garage door openers. BMW's had the issue where aftermarket LED's for "white angel eyes" rather than the yellow bulbs and they'd have terrible radio reception due to interference from the new LED's.
Remove the LED's and reset the light and see if it comes back. Here's what the books says:
