Vsa and Abs lights came on after replacing battery

I replaced the battery myself. I thought it was pretty easy. The vsa and abs lights came on. I took it to the dealership, they said my vsa module needed replacing. Seems impossible. They said a voltage surge could have take place which knocked out the vsa module. They want 2100 bucks to fix the module. Unreal. Does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of replacing the battery again to start but not sure that will do anything. However, it beats 2100 bucks. How could replacing your battery knock out the vsa and abs system?

The code they gave me at the dealership was 81-1. I still can't believe that changing my battery knocked out a piece of equipment costing 2000 dollars. So, I started from scratch and replaced the battery with a Honda battery. That didn't work. Luckily good old Costco took the other battery back and I was only out 30 bucks. Still amazes me. I called Acura client relations and they gave me a case number. Still no resolution.

Update

I ended up taking my car to the Colorado Springs Acura and they just reset the codes and I never had the issue again.
