Hello all,
This is my first post. I own a 2010 TL in Crystal Black Pearl paint. I have noticed paint job looks awful, and is getting worse. I have seen it described as "crows feet". It looks worse on the roof and the trunk area. I purchased it at Car Max with about 9k miles. It now has about 48k miles. About 35k miles, I started to notice. I wash, clean, wax regularly, but it's been getting worse. I live in Southern California, so there isn't harsh weather, even though I leave the car outdoors. Any recommendations?

crows feet is an indication that the clear coat has failed.

nothing short of a repaint will get rid of the crows feet

Thanks for the feedback. It seems weird that a four year old car would need a repaint. I've had far cheaper automobiles that have not needed a repaint at all.

OP - I could be wrong but I think the "crows feet" paint issue has been discussed on the forum before.. Although it wasn't easy, if I recall I think a few members had this problem and may have had Acura correct it under warranty.

Search the forum and see what you come up with.. Good Luck.

I believe Honda had paint issues for your car.

as there are many 4G owners here on acurazine who've had their car repainted

Thanks. I'll search the forum and see what I find. I may have to contact Acura headquarters. I'm not sure if the warranty extends to a second buyer or if it is still under warranty since the car is 4 years old and 48k miles.

The crows feet issue unfortunately has affected mostly those with the same paint color as you (as did Honda's of the same paint code). Even under warranty it seems like it has been up to the discretion of Acura on whether they will repaint the affected areas or not. Best to check with a dealership or call Acura directly. Good luck!

I am one of the members that had my 2010 CBP repainted to correct this issue.
