Buyer Beware! 2009 Acura TL - 19UUA96569A004326
Wanted to let my AZ brethren know to avoid purchasing this car, it has been in many accidents that are not showing up in the carfax. The only accident that is showing up though does reflect frame damage. If you require more information regarding the vehicle feel free to PM me. If anyone is brave enough to purchase it, as a point of reference I got 17k for the trade in.

I'm sad my RJ grille is still on there

Thanks, for whatever it was worth I truly loved the car and tried to baby it. After being rear ended 3 times, having a slew of huge costco carts hit it, being side swiped into a curb by a yellow cab, being "T boned" while going straight (frame damage, 17k in repairs) and then sent into a curb surely took it's toll on the vehicle. I recently had the right rear corner resprayed because the clear coat peeled after being repaired. Then during Feb 13' snow storm I avoid a C63 that lost control and ate a curb for it. The most recent accident was my fault and I took care of it out of pocket; changed both inner tire rods, had the wheel repaired, tire mounted/balanced and the car aligned four times. It still won't drive straight. And theres some cosmetic damage that might seem minor to the untrained eye but is quite serious because of that accident.
I got them a while ago, a few other members have them as well. I don't remember where I purchased them from but I can try looking through my email reciepts for more info.

Man... that is one sweet looking car with the grill and lip.
Like Tltrigirl, curious as to what you traded in for. Looks like it was traded to a Hyundai dealer?
Edit
Just saw your signature, a 12 Black TL Advance? Nice!

New(er) TL ! 12' AWD/ADV blk/umber. I'm in love. It's my 2nd black vehicle which is a pain to keep clean but I've bought a car cover, am going to get a professional exterior detail, do a ceramic coating and clear bra the entire front. I'm already modding it at a furious pace too

Thanks Alex, your car is partially the reason why I took the plunge!
These are similar but I can't find the exact ones I purchased before. I know it's a Chinese OEM acura accessory though and that a few Canadian guys have this mod.

I offered my headlights/tails (silly tri staters slept on them) and also wanted to trade the grille but was very reluctant to. The price of my new TL was very aggressive and I knew that if I slept on it I was a) going to lose this car and b) no acura dealer would be dumb enough to offer me 17k on a car that according to a local acura dealer is worth 7k because of the title; I was underwater with that car. Hyundai didn't do their due diligence, tisk tisk. Beisdes that I caught them off guard when I went to purchase with how much I knew about used car buys.
I took off all my performance mods, some aesthetic ones and the Hyundai dealership gave me a hard time when we initially began to negotiate the buy/trade because he didn't want me altering anything on my old car. He wanted me to trade it in as is. I obviously couldn't agree to that but the used car manager was pretty adamant about leaving the grille on there because he "hates the oem beak". So given the circumstances I took what I could and I ran with it.
I called the sales rep on Saturday for some misc stuff and he told me they now can't get my old TL to pass an inspection. He believes it hasn't "cycled" since the battery was unpluged for the exhaust parts to be removed although they've driven it for over 250k miles, plus the 60 miles I drove to get there. So when they hook it up to the inspection machine it neither fail nor passes, which I don't understand because there was no check engine light on before or after I turned the car in. And I had all the OEM parts reinstalled.
I found the original email regarding my pedal purchase and it seems as though the merchant either no longer does business on eBay or simply changed his user account. I did find this which is exactly what I had before except it doesn't say "Acura". It's also fairly priced unlike that SC bs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sport-Fuel-Brake-Foot-Rest-Pedals-Plate-ACURA-TL-TSX-2009-2011-2012-/260915916682?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3cbfccef8a

I actually had 2 sets of HPT's one I did sell to a local member & friend. The other set stayed on the trade in. If I had the time to really strip it down I would of and in hind sight, I wish I had considering that they didn't even inspect my vehicle when I traded it in.

Congrats on the updated ride and thanks for posting the link for the pedals. Wasn't planning on adding anything else to my car for a bit, but it happens when you're bored at work. P.S. - which lip kit did you order? I might be saving that purchase for another boring day at work down the road.

I'm going to do a proper build thread this time. I regret that last time I didn't take the time to take before and after pictures and by the time pictures of my car started popping up on AZ, I was basically done modding. Had I taken the time to make a build thread I would have greatly benefited from the communities input and avoided some lame mistakes.

Damm bro,i never knew your ride had such a tough life, but heck it seemed to have worked out to your advantage.
Happy to see you are back with Acura, congrats and i look foward to seeing what you will do to this one.

TBH.. if no one knew anything about the history of your car.. someone would have picked it up and post "new member here" with a picture of your car.. while you sit there shaking your head and thinking to yourself.. "if only he knew.."
thanks for being a honest member!
also welcome to the cbp club.. where we spend more time keeping the car clean rather than doing anything else because we are allergic to swirl marks.

Glad that all of that is behind, C .
Let the modding begin
Post pictures, btw, quit being lazy.
Edit: Just realized, the listing has more pictures of your old TL in it than you have posted on AZ over the years, combined

Congrats on the new ride, you hit that dealer over the head hard. I saw this car last week and rode in it this weekend and its truly amazing how that umber feels and looks, now Carlos make sure to get those rims so we can do a photo shoot.

Congrats on the new car.
Is it legal for you to disclose that the car has been in all those accidents when the dealership owns it now? I mean, if this thread comes up in a google search and the dealership repeatedly loses business on this car, can they sue? Just curious...

I'm unsure about the legality of disclosing that information but as far as you know I could just be a habitual liar? I'm mentioning this stuff because I don't want some young unsuspecting buyer to think "oh cool, it's already modded", not run his/her fingers along the hood, door panels, gas cap or have a paint meter reader at their disposal to check for previous damage. Take what I say as you choose, whether it's true or not is up to you to decide.
Haha, I'm just not a picture kind of guy; it never occurs to me to take a moment, enjoy what I'm looking at and then take a photo. I take mental pictures instead. That being said I borrowed Typesfan DRL and was absolutely defeated by how complex the camera was and ended up taking pictures with my iphone. I'm getting old!

i would hate to see a new member post a picture of your car in a few months saying he just got a good deal because dealer found out all the things wrong with your car.. feel bad for the individual who would have to go through that.

I'm almost inclined to ask, do you think maybe the black made you a target? lol my WDP seems to attract unwanted haters also........curbs...........taxi's................ ........cows. Yes, a cow! Even tho it's been through hell, I wouldn't trade it for the world. Glad you came out on top in all of this.
