Another: MGP Caliper Cover Thread

I finally pulled the trigger on a set of MGP Caliper Covers after long debating. I went with Black so they didn't stand out as much! The whole process took me 1 hour to install including cleaning the wheels and torqueing the lugs.

I paid $169.00, delivered with no sales tax from CAR ID. I used a discount code "Military"

It looks like I am going to keep them on!

I am curious to know your thoughts, thumbs up or thumbs down!

I think they look clean...
I have a feeling you may get flamed for them, but honestly, if you love it, that's all that matters. Gorgeous car and color choice btw.

Two thumbs up on the CBP and HPT wheels.

One thumb down on the caliper covers...at least they're not red.

Aesthetically I think the look nice, but you would be better off just painting them with a high resistant paint.

A bit ricey there.....sorry get real brakes and not make them look like real brakes. LOL

Plastic too, I am not sure how well they will handle the heat when the brakes actually get hot if you do sprinted driving. Plus I am willing to bet it blocks some of the airflow to the pads.

^^^ THIS

they look good IMO and look cleaner than just a caliper/blob of black high heat paint on there but the only thing which worries me is how well will they handle heat/dissipate heat and allow the pads to cool down....

all in all, i think they look good

The installation was very easy. There are 2 clips that hold on the covers. The wheels have to be removed. The covers are made from metal so they will not melt. In addition, I think it does help keep the brake dust off the wheels. I am not sure if i will be keeping them on. I love the controversy on these forums, everything is subjective!

Hey, I like mine too & have 11” multi-piston calipers, real brakes, under black ones. Thought the “they are plastic & will melt comment” was pretty good

I ordered a set for my miata with custom color. Going to do the TL the same next month.
The more I look at it the more I like it. They don't look anymore rice, then the window spoiler to me.

Um these aren't fake they're customized. Fake one's are on ebay (brembo) plastic. I think you were thinking about calipers its self. Just my opinion.

See last item on this page.

It allows you to roll your windows up the same way you can roll them down...with the keyfob. Though I don't know how much use it is if it doesn't also close your sunroof. With that said I wish there was a way to disable the sunroof opening when using the keyfob.

The cover itself doesn't look too bad to me, but I think the bolts are way too visible and that part makes it look kinda cheap. Maybe paint those to match the rest of the surface?

They don't look half bad. I actually like it. Personally, I'd go the really cheap route and paint them black (wich I plan on doing). OP, after almost a year do you still have them on? How do they hold up?

Most of those modules the TL already has. I do like the shift light module though. It can come in handy for MT owners or those that like to be in the "s mode" for AT.

Those covers are so rice. Not like the glued on rear window spoiler that helps with downforce.

your partially correct.. the 4g windows can be rolled down with remote.. but cannot be rolled back up.. the kp lets you roll windows back up with the remote fob
