To be honest after seeing this I prefer concept A. I like what you did to update the look but it just does not look as qgressive as A.

I might sound like an indecisive first date right about now, but I am considering just going with a 3 piece wrap around front lip, 2 piece rear and splitter style side skirts. working on a final design now that incorporates design A with the other elements I mentioned. The 3 piece front lip will make fitment as good as can be with adjustments possible. It will also help a ton with the shipping cost and with the production costs. Concept pics coming tonight hopefully then we will schedule the car to be brought into the booth for the first measuring session.

Blackura, did you have to drill into your OEM bumper to get the A-Spec on?

Yup.. plus on the rear bumper, you need to use a hand held "jig-saw" to actually saw apart bumper and remove the exhaust outlets. there is no going back to stock

Damn, thats kinda retarded for an OEM part. I'm trying to see how our kit can cover those holes without riding so high onto the bumper.

I ned to make a few measurements and a take a look at the car's front and side bumpers in person. I might have some help from an experienced fabricator to build the prototype out of foam and clay in NY then send out the prototype to CA for the mold building.

I just need a local with a 4G TL to mock up a design out of foam. Consider it a mini meet. I'll bring the beer and sandwiches or pizza!!

Awwww I really, really liked A and B! Thought they really changed the look of the car while staying true to OEM style.

Have you 100% decided NOT to make them?

the holes are pretty high on the rear bumper. dont you remember the hole i accidentally drilled into the white 4G?

the front wasnt too bad. and side skirts were like the 3G, couple of honda clips and 3 screws

Acura should hire Ron Jon for the mid cycle refresh. Fer Sur. Their sales would double.

still unsure about the sideskirts, that rj front lip and the acura a-spec sideskirts would look real nice together.

I'm affraid I'm going to have to do full sideskirts. The problem with that is the cost is higher, and then you have to consider OEM mounting points and the potential issues trying to make it all work. I'll have to make both and see which looks better or works better.

I don't like the sideskirts. They need to be more integrated to the car imo.

This is the best looking front lip kit of them all . It will take the 4G front end to another level.

the previous lip/skirt combination worked well together. the latest front lip I believe is the overall winner. however, the combination of the previous skirts with the latest lip does not work well together.

Here we go, just got to make the rear design. I was planning a 3 piece rear, very simple middle diffuser piece and two spats that flow from the side skirts into the side of the rear bumper. The rear bumper looks complicated as it is already.

Hey Rondog The side skirts look better this way,it looks like the car is ready to take flight. The other skirts looked ok but they had that gap between the skirt and the door. this is a sharper look and compliments the car.

So far you nailed it, so long as the rear fits that look you can count on my order. I agree, less is more with the rear.

Setting up a donor car as we speak, ordering the materials and scheduling in the booth time. I believe we will be making it in CA since the design is pretty much nailed. Before I was unsure, but this is the best concept out of them all. We should be ready to rock in a 3-4 weeks with plenty of progress shots. I'll be creating a new thread to post progress and take preorders. Now the only thing to figure is whether it should be abs plastic or polyurethane. Urethane is more expensive but alot more forgiving with durability and fit.

WOW.

I wasn't feeling the initial side skirts, but you really nailed it with this front/side combo. Can't wait to see what you do with the rear-end.

Just curious though, are you trying to make it so that this kit can be put on without drilling? I was reading through the posts but I couldn't really draw the answer to this question. If so, I think that makes it so much more appealing to me(and several others I'm sure).

Great work! Please do keep us updated with each step, I read through each post of this thread.

Thats what I'm thinking, I mean it's not going to be a HUGE difference, but I'll post prices on both after we are well into the prototype, then we will decide, because I could end up changing my mind back and forth a ton of times, lol. Poly would end up costing similar to what the CL kit costs, around $1080 for the lip kit, while ABS might end up being more similar to the cost of the Accord kit, which is $800 or so. We will also be working on some ABS materials like a replica Carbon fiber, and a prepped and primed version, so there are advantages and disadvantages to each.

Rondy, this looks terrific! Finally, a front spoiler kit that actually wraps around the front!....what a concept. I think it puts the Aspec front spoiler to shame.

These keep getting better and better! The side skirts flow much better now, I like the new concept for the side skirts alot more. I say Polyurethane, it'll be worth the extra money.
