I think concept A follows the overall look of the TL and enhances the look rather than looking like a typical out-of-place kit. Good job!

Ron, you have any decision yet?
Concept A kit will be the final result right?

This is preliminary, I'm working on a few things right now, but the outcome of the peak season sales will determine if the kit gets made or not. Right now, this is in the lead for the next product from RonJon Sport Design. Alot goes into each production decision, so I hope I can decide to make it or not by mid-spring, then we'll re-open this project and make a decision on which design exactly.

I am starting to feel hopeless that this lip kit will not come out by the time I'm ready to purchase it (June) which is unfortunate because I'd like to do something different to the front end before I have the whole thing clear-bra'ed.

Now that people have done this and published pictures, and now that we have finally learned to take pictures of the 4G from attractive angles, I'd like to suggest again that it might be best to closely emulate the design of the OEM body kit, especially the OEM front spoiler.

I think both of these cars look very good. I mean, for whatever one dumb old man's opinion is worth.

Definitely A. No offense, but C looks terrible. Makes the TL look cheap.

I vote A for sure, a clean/classy look that isn't stock is win in my book. I'm planning to get a 4G sometime this year so if this kit makes it to light of day before I take the plunge, I'm in.

Hmm, I think if you want the OEM look you're better of with the OEM kit. You're just not going to match OEM quality with an aftermarket part for a relatively low volume/small market...especially at a lower price. <$1k OEM kit is pretty reasonable in the first place.

Just a shot in the dark since I've never looked underneath a 4G but maybe that black underbody deflector is designed to deliver extra air to the radiator? I know on Corvettes, if you take off the underbody deflector there have been people that noticed that the car runs a lot hotter and can be prone to overheating. And then again, the ZR1 has a front spoiler and I'm sure that needs more air to the radiator than anything. I'm less inclined to believe that is the reason though, since there's a large opening in the grille for air, but...

This car looks bad no matter what you do it. It is still ugly. The rims and front grill help a little bit.

A is subtle and looks from factory which I favor.
C is too wild for me.

Both A and B are good compliments but I'd also say that a bumper redesign should be in the works because the OEM lip kit seems to look OK but only if it's put on well. Heck the 3G didn't need a rear bumper but the 4G definitely does...Maybe Acura will do a refresh on the grill and lip kit all together.

Do we have a decision yet? I don't know how much longer I can hold out from getting the oem kit.

I vote for option C. Love the body, makes it actually stand out more than it already does for the better. Definitely C Ron Jon!

Kit is back on the drawing board, I am starting a whole new campaign to supply the TSX, the TL and the RL with a splitter /diffuser / lip kit design that attaches to the underside of the TL. It will be made from a CF covered ABS plastic or full primed ABS (your choice), it will work as a standalone without paint, or partially painted two tone ( with the needed masking tape grooves to separate the CF and the body color) or as a fully painted kit. Here are the preliminary pics, best part is the price, which will be $480 for the ABS version. The CF version will be slightly more.

There will be one more render by my designer, who is really good at closing the final touches and re-adjustiong the proportions.

And just for an idea of the whole RJ Sport Design theme for Acura, here's a few candidates for the TSX:

still very partial to the first design you had, TL Concept A...to me it just seems to many gaps and doesn't seem to mesh well with the body

^I agree completely. I liked the original concept A for the TL as well. This version just looks like an underbody spoiler/kit was attached to the already existing areas without removing them. Is that the concept your going for? I love your products, but bring back Concept A and I'm sold.

That look would set it off. It would look sick with the A concept. As soon as you finalize your design I will go pick one up to your warehouse, I'm only 8 minutes away man. Hope this happens soon, I have waited patiently and I need my lipkit.

Yeah, We are working on selecting the perfect ABS sheets to produce the kit from, as well as trying to locate a TL in the South Gate, CA area to build the prototype on.

adjusted the proportions and I think it's coming along nicely, we are starting with the TL first (before the TSX) and it will be going in the booth within a week!!!!

Looking sharp Rondog! The revisions in post #112 really transforms the TL, and is coming along very nice. Looking forward to more images of the kit. If possible could you post some renderings of the rear?

One thing about the rear of the TL that could use some enhancing is the "bulge/squat" in the rear left and right bumper areas. Any chance your kit could straighten the "bulge/squat" out?

Some more pics to follow, but to keep costs down to a minimum, we will be making the rear portion 2 spatts. I am torn between the full lip kit and the splitter kit, but I think the splitter kit will have a nice visual impact as well as being less expensive. I'll have to wait until the last minute before I can fully decide.

We'll be doing this for visual purposes only, so no wind tunnel test, we'll save that for when we get into F1 racing, lol.

Seen it. I like the cross hatch diamond style on the back of it and the higher a bar, like the factory look with a better face and no fugly beak.

I think this is the cleanest kit of the 3. Everything just "flows". It looks like it could have come like this from the factory. Way to go Guys.

Sorry...didn't want to screw/hijack this thread. That pic above is from the first page and not the most recent choice for the body kit.
Please scroll higher (14 posts) to see the choices/designs.
