TrueCar.com shows an invoice price of $43,010 and a great price of $42,510. Not so sure about any deals at the moment.

Thanks guys...

Fer, how much did they give you on trade (unless you mean $31,660) and how many miles on your 2010?

There's currently a $1000 Dealer cash and $750 Dealer Bonus cash on 2012 models. Subtract $1750 from the invoice price, add your sales tax & registration fees and present the dealer with the price you're willing to pay out-the-door.

lji: As far as I know, the $750 is only if you lease, not purchase. Is that correct or is it for any transaction?

ferrcad: do you know if your $42,660 includes the $1,000 incentive off? Also, are you leasing so did you also get the $750?

Thanks in advance!

Will not repeat all so check out my other thread... The 1,000, 750 and delivery is in there if you look at how they up the ante on the trade value so in the end I believe it is an outstanding deal...

hey ferrcad;since you havent signed any deal yet i would strongly urge you to not go through with it.. your paying $11K for the same car with a few (nice) upgrades.. unless your flush with money it's completely a waste of money IMHO. and to top it off your going with the same color; so your really not going to feel almost any difference at all! hold out for the 5G TL!

Wow - that is a great trade in price, nice to see the 2010's are still holding their value pretty well.

My 2010 SH-AWD has 5700 miles. What do you think a fair trade-in is? An Acura dealer offered me $32,000 which I passed on. Now that I see that ferrcad got almost as much for a car with 21,000 mi. it looks like i was right to do so.

ferrcad: Thanks for the info. My understanding is that the $750 is only on leases, so it sounds like you got a good price.

Yes, you are right. The $750 is for leasing and the $1000 is available for both leasing and purchasing.

I would hold out for at least 33,000... My car now has 23,500 and climbing but as I said earlier I have a signed deal on the numbers already discussed so we will see... If the deal falls thru I will keep driving my 2010 and look at the 5G when it rolls out... Good luck in your search on pricing and trade values...

No add on for me... Will be Purchasing A-Spec kit online from fellow acuraziner... Once I take delivery...

By the way for those on the fence
Acura just released .9%@60 thru September 6th... I just locked the rate last evening... I had 1.9%@60 so I saved a little in interest.... If you are on the fence now maybe the time to jump over....

I used true car as was suggested earlier in the thread. I had three dealers make offers from $500-$1100 under invoice so far. The estimation on my trade is $31785 and the best price is $41,752. I have an 09 with 23,600 miles and it will be out of warranty soon. Not sure where to go here.

I seriously question how accurate TrueCar is. I think they take the discount on all TL's and apply a factor against the list price of the model you are looking for. If you look at the sales for the TL when you are looking at a SH-AWD Advance, it says just over 1000 TL's have been sold. No way have they sold over 1000 SH-AWD Advance nationally. Since I bought mine, I've kept track of what is available in the Houston area. I'll bet they haven't sold 10 of that specific package in the Houston area total, and Houston is the fourth largest city in the U.S.

The reason I point this out is because when I bought ours in March, they only went about $1500 off list because it was the only one in the Houston area. But they offered me dead invoice on any other TL they had. That would skew TrueCar's value on the SH-AWD Advance. BTW, I've seen stuff like this before. They showed a "price paid" on the 2011 Chrysler 300 before there were any 300's sold - I know that for a fact. Again, I"m sure what they did was take the amount that the 2010's were being discounted and just applied that discount to the list price of the '11s even though none had been sold.

My hat is off to anyone getting more than 1500-2000 off on a SH-AWD Advance. When I looked the other day there were none in the Houston area, and inventories of all TL's is very low right now.

UPDATE- I just looked, there is one in the Houston area. Looking at Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and all the surrounding smaller towns there are only eight of them.

I just picked up a 2012 TL SH-AWD Advance, crystal black/ebony. They let it go for $42600 + tax & tags. I traded in my 2009 TL Tech SH-AWD for $25300 (35,000 miles). Less than I'd hoped for but with .9% over 5 years I felt it made up for it.

I agree with jjsC5. I helped my parents get an Accord and got it for about $1000-$2000 less than what Truecar said was a good price. Be careful. This is why I wish more people would post how much they paid for their cars and where they got them from in the "sign in" thread stickied on the forum. Those should be accurate for that time period, at least.

TrueCar's "good price" is not the lowest amount you can get, its just an average of prices that people have bought it from. On one of the tabs in TrueCar shows people who have paid lower than the good price. I just think its a good tool to use in addition to KBB, Yahoo Autos, etc to negotiate a lower deal in case the dealer wants you to pay an arm and a leg

I get that, but trust me when I tell you that what they post does not take into account variances within a model, or even model year. Like I said in my post above, I've seen it where I know for a fact that they are applying a factor across models.

The biggest benefit I see with truecar is the guaranteed price certificates. I had a guaranteed price from one dealer at 41,700 which is about $1100 under invoice. If you are buying outright, this program is a winner. No negotiating, just go buy. Of course if you have a trade, they can always low ball you.

Yeah I get what your saying...they probably do that so people don't get disappointed if they can't get the low price they see as a good price on the site lol.

I have not looked into that. Thanks for pointing that out.

BTW, looking at your signature, you and I have the same disease. I've owned 57 four wheel vehicles in the past 38 years. I've also owned 12 motorcycles and four boats. I don't have pictures of all of them I can post, but I do have an excel spreadsheet that covers them all!

WOW, 57?! How many cars? I'm looking for #40 now and then I'm done for at least three years.

I have only had good experiences with Truecar.com as it was very helpful in getting me a "no haggle price" when I bought my TL in February, and three of my friends who purchased cars from other manufacturers too. The response I got from the dealer I purchased through basically sighed when I showed them the price on the website. They took the oh poor me approach by saying "we can't do this deal because we will make very little money on it. We are in business for God sake!" I took the hard line and said "if you don't want my deal, there are three other dealers who will. I want to do business here as you are closest to home for me. I have purchased 4 cars from your dealership in the past. Isn't that worth something?" Long story short, I held my ground and said "make the deal or I am leaving, not to return". This is why I hate shopping for a car. You have to be an asshole not to be taken advantage of. One of my clients is a negotiator for SWAT NYPD and she is impossible to deal with when she gets an idea in her head that she feel strongly about. I happened to be in her office a couple of years back and she was negotiating on the phone with a BMW dealer about an M3 she wanted. She was vicious with them. Actually ruthless is the better term. She played head games, hard ball, softball, and intellectually twisted the manager into submission. In the beginning of the conversation he was stern and unwaivering about making a deal. By the end he was appologizing to her, giving her extras for free and completely wilted to her every request. Now that is real negotiations! It did not hurt that she sounds hot on the phone and backs it up in person. She looks like the lead female detective Jennifer Esposito in the TV show Blue Bloods.

I drove an Infiniti G37x to the Acura Dealer while being on a test-drive.
Then I took the TL to the Infiniti dealer.

I told both, that's what you're competing against. I called it "Mindfuck!"

Both dealership-dudes shook their heads, because apparently people don't do that.

You just have to realize, they want your money. But for some reason they make you believe that you want their cars.

I thought it was a great feeling to have those dealers by their small, hairy testis

Oh, and maybe try and check the price through costco.
