I found a new 2011 TL Tech in my area and was wondering what I should be looking to get on a price. The vehicle has obviously been on the dealer's lot since at least March so I would think I should be looking at a pretty deep discount below invoice price. If anyone has any similar experience I would love to hear about it. Also, anyone wanting to share their 2012 buying experience would also be great. I'm still on the fence about what I'll ultimately do.

 

Welcome to the forum. If you like the looks of the 11 over the 12 or the changes in the 12 aren't worth the extra money to you, then get the 11. As you said, the dealer will probably discount it greatly to move it.

 

I bought a 2011 TL SH-AWD w/Tech in early May and paid about $37k before TTL.

How much a dealership is willing to discount depends on how many 11's are left on the lot or in the general area. Some dealers are willing to play ball if they want to get rid of the older inventory badly enough.

 

6 speed tranny is a must. I would highly recommend you get a 2012. Otherwise why not get a 2009-10 and save even more money.

 

What color is it ? Exterior color always affects how long a car will get stuck in the dealership's back lot.

 

Yea, that is the one feature I wish my 2010 had.
