2010 TL Roof Molding question
I noticed the past week that the rubber gasket in the roof molding of my 2010 TL is coming off. Is there anything I need to be concerned about? Can I just cut it and try to squeeze it back in or better just to replace the part? I tried to squeeze it back in but i guess it sort of stretched or pulled up from the end so now there is like an inch of excess.

I have a similar problem but it's with the rubber lip coming off the opposite side. I believe that gasket and lip largely exist to prevent water from building up and becoming stagnant in the channels on the roof. Those areas are painted so it shouldn't be an issue, and the water should drain fairly well. I haven't worried about it so far.

This is the full DIY if you want to replace the part. Each side is about $100 if you get it from a local dealer or $83 + equal amount to ship from Delray Acura in FL since the boxes these ship in are 94" long, 24" wide, and maybe 3" deep.
In your case, I'd just cut it off or stuff it back in and not worry about it. That rubber up there broke on mine years ago, and I didn't get around to replacing the part until the same rubber trim started breaking around the windshield and annoying me as they flapped while I drove (last July). Water should continue to drain properly if it gets into the channel underneath there.

So the dealer wanted $120 per side. Auto parts store doesn't have stripping thing enough to just replace etc.. So I ended up taping the chrome with painters tape and using Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant $8 bucks. Simply cut a small hole in the nozzle lined it up in the groove and just filled the slot in. My car is black so it came out good. Not noticeable unless you are searching for it.
