on average subaru is more powerful than acura? let's see.

Acura:

RL - 290hp
TL - 258hp
TL-S - 286hp
TSX - 201hp
MDX - 300hp
RDX - 240hp

Total = 1575hp / 6 models = 262.5hp on average for Acura.

Subaru:

Outback - 170hp
Outback XT - 243hp
Outback R - 245hp
Legacy - 170hp
Legacy GT - 243hp
Legacy R - 245hp
Forester - 170hp
Forester XT - 224hp
Impreza - 170hp
Impreza WRX - 224hp
Impreza STi - 305hp
Tribeca - 256hp

Total = 2665hp / 12 Models = 222.1hp on average for Subaru.

Go to Car Talk or Ramblings if you want to compare Suby's and Acuras. Thanks.

You know, I saw one of those on the road yesterday, and I thought...if the shape is kind of like that, but with more of an acura spin, that wouldn't be too bad at all would it?

I think the new TSX is FK'N UGLY. The baby robin bird beek grill, the flat bulging fenders, YUK BIG TIME.

The new 09 TL should offer a Type-S model the first year. Waiting until 2010 isn't an option for me.

I want SH-AWD, 330HP minimum, a 6 speed manual and NOT the looks of the TSX angled grill and UGLY rear end. WTF Acura.

A turbo 3.5 liter with 330hp and 330tq, manual and AWD would sell like HOT CAKES. Go to other brand forums and read. MOST people DO WANT MORE HP.

The new 09 SH-AWD 300hp automatic might do low 6's to 60, SHIT my Civic Si is that fast. And way too slow for me. It should do 5.5 or less to compete with every other car out there.

What a shame. The 07 TL-S I had was a great car, and I thought Acura would improve it in everyway with the 09. NOT.... Just adding AWD and ruining everything else. Bigger, heavier, slower, and UGLY AS FK.

It will also be about 15k cheaper - looks like an affordable alternative to the GS, potentially with better electronics.

Wow, such strong words, but, as stated before (by myself and others), not unlike the comments made by 2G TL owners about the 3G TL once spy shots and specs on it began to surface. Keep in mind the base 3G TL only has 10 hp more than the 2G TL-S. DAMN, HOW COULD ACURA HAVE DONE THAT? NO WAY A NEW MODEL TL SHOULD HAVE ONLY 10 HP MORE THAN THE OUTGOING TL-S. AN OUTRAGE, I SAY!!

My recommendation: wait for the complete unveiling of the new TL models, take it all in, test drive them. If you allow yourself to, you may end up liking it more than the current TL. At this point, only time (and your willingness to have an open mind) will tell...

P.S. For those that don't know me, I use sarcasm frequently, but sans the red text. Just a heads up.

My neighbor has the 08 Accord V6 and is only getting 24-25ish highway. I hoping we aren't seeing similiar numbers on the new TL.
I get better than that on my 08 TL-S, I get like 27-28 on HWY. I hear the 08 V6 Accords are rather thirsty even with cylinder activation, probably the extra weight.

yea lol, but even if you take out all the sub 200hp cars it'll still not be as much, it's like 248hp...thing is no subaru is 260+hp and that's why the average will never reach acura. (Apart from the STi ofcourse, but that's only 1 car and doesn't do much for averaging).

Thats pretty good for the 3.5L TL-S. Thats pretty much exactly what I get in my 01 CL-S too.
I don't understand why the Accord doesn't do as well...maybe its the mix of extra weight plus the 87 octane gas. I wonder if you put premium in the Accord V6 it would be similiar #'s as your TL-S.

Anyways not to get off subject but I hope the 4g TL gets decent mpg #'s.

Honestly the GS never impressed me. I think it sold a lot of cars because of the badge and I would take an RL or M35 over one anyday. I rode in one and the interior to me just doesnt feel like a 50k car.

Lets just say I'm between 70-80 mph. most of the time...maybe I need to keep to the lower 70's to get numbers like yours..dang.

MPG on the TL will most likely be worse than the 3g TL and the 08 Accord.

More weight, AWD, and a powerful engine should see to that.

Hey guys, I just was reading through last months C&D and they had a great clear no-camo photo of the new TL. Amazing, it looks exactly like the new TSX!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Don't shoot me tktommy.

I don't think we should be too hard on people posting these links. It seems obvious that it's an altered photo of the TSX, but, in th haste to share info, people probably don't notice.

I find it more amazing that C&D would have gone to print without more closely looking at this and questioning the source of the photo. Lost some respect for C&D magazine because anyone who looks at this photo for more than 5 minutes can see its a fraud.

Ikko and Markjrenna:

You are both this far away from a vacation.

Stay on topic and away from personal attacks and threats. If you are joking, you better put it in red font with a smilie.

Terms like "faggot" etc. will not be tolerated. Clean it up. Thanks.

Acura can't afford not having AWD in the new TL, with major rivals 3-series, C-class, IS250awd, and G35x already all having AWD options.

Another good thing is that SH-AWD is an option and doesn't come standard in the new base TL (like on the current RL).

they're not really bigger, look about the same size...it's cuz the ebake in the back is in the drum, so the rear disks have to be a little bigger, also, it's probably not ventilated.

however, no more 4 piston brembos as i see it...
