This might be a dumb or stupid question, but where is the car battery located under the hood?
I have seen several videos of the 2022 MDX, but I don't see the car battery in the normal usual place. (Under the hood on the front right side behind the head light)
Is it somewhere else ? I know in the new TLX, the car battery is located in the trunk, under the floor board.

Just curious to know!
Likely in the back of the vehicle luggage area under the “Floor boards”.
interesting that they would enclose the V6 engine in plastic
Agree. Seeing that I expect to open up the cover a find Lego's stored in there. Maybe they decided to go minimal (and cheap) as opposed to something gaudy.

This was way the hell harder than it should have been.
You can see the positive terminal cover with the red + in the lower right corner of this picture:
Side note, there is also a big GND label pointing to the bolt where you put the negative jump start clip if you are jump starting the MDX.
See this pic (right side, around the middle)
I remembered this thread and thought I'd post a picture of the battery:
Almost every picture of the mdx's area shows that pentagon shaped box, which I think houses an air filter.
The battery is actually UNDER that box. It looks like a total pain in the ass to change the battery, since you'll have to remove it.
I can't believe they made it that difficult to replace, pretty sure its to get you to do it at a dealership. There is no reason to design it like that other than $$$ for the dealer network. I was able to replace a battery on my Honda Accord with near zero experience other than a youtube video. This thing requires a technician handbook. I'd be interested to see how the same battery is configured on a Honda Pilot.

Thats not too bad. My dad had a 98 Chrysler Concorde and the battery for that was located in the front passenger side fender pretty much under the headlight. You had to go in through the wheel well to get to it. They did include an access panel for it.
Just to add one more note, the battery in the MDX Type-Sis in the back of the vehicle on the driver's side, under the compartment with the two knobs.
However, if you need to jump-start the vehicle, there is a positive battery terminal under the hood where the jumper cable connects. There's also a terminal bolt under there where the negative cable connects.
I'd recommend anyone with a Type-S to become familiar with that placement to avoid confusion.
