Car suddenly died
Car suddenly died
Hello to all fellow members, I am looking for the cheapest battery for the car due to tight budget. Can you guys please provide me with the links of the stores that carry the battery for our cars and don't forget about the cheap battery part lol. I checked at walmart, sears, and costco and they don't carry the battery for the car. The guy at sears told me that oe tl's battery has flush vents?? Also can you guys please provide me with the specs of the battery that is required for the car such as amps, cca and all other important stuff. I just don't want to fuck up car electronics and such.... Thanks in advance.

As long as the battery fits on the tray and can be clamped down, you're good to go. There is no specific battery. They are all 12V DC. You can go for a smaller and cheaper one than oem....it will fit in the tray... but it won't last you as long, especially in harsh winters. I always go for the largest capacity battery I can manage to fit in that space (always larger than oem).
I recently got a costco battery. It's not the exact same size as the OE battery -- the costco one is slightly taller and narrower. But the terminals are on the correct side ("reverse", i think) and it fits in the tray and under the tiedown.
I just parked at costco, took out my old battery, took it to the tire center where I found the closest match, bought it, and installed it in the parking lot. In and out in about 10 minutes. I think it was under $70.

Any group size 34/78 will work. You will want at least a 550cca battery Min. The higher the better, especially if you live in a colder climate.
There is nothing special about the TL battery. As long as it fits the tray and has the correct post configuration it will work.

Yeah, as these guys are saying.....once ya get the sizing measurements and post orientation, check the salvage yards for the best bargain. The battery would have the date of manufacture along with the CCA rating. Buy the newest and highest rated one that ya can find at a fraction of the price of a new one. $25>$50.

Nonetheless....these car batteries are referred to as "12V" just like AA batteries are called "1.5V".

try batteries plus, and ask for a `blem` there and at parts stores
thats a batt that has shipping damage to an external hold down or other cosmetic damage- doen not matter to us with top holddown strap
got mine for 45 bucks! usually 90
they also clean the cable ends and run a system test for you
note most batteries sit on a shelf for some months,,losing charge
Drive 30-45 minutes above 1500rpm to fully charge new ones
Exception!! batteries plus puts all theirs on a huge battery maintainer machine and fully charges each one before it goes on the shelf, and they get new batts every day,,,smaller inventory means newer fresher stock~
if you get 3-4 years from a modern battery thats considered good
electronics and now the early darkness mandating headlight use and heater fan= put a lot of load on batt,,if its weak its going to fail in winter conditions
Everyone should clean the terminals and test the system- free at parts stores and battery places
