Seeking shopping hints for certified 2024 MDX w/Tech package & adding dealer-installe
Been a very long-time Acura customer. Currently in a 2018 RDX; looking to go larger but stay in the fold, since I haven't seen anything scary about 4th gen. MDX models. Not looking to make my phone the center of my entertainment center, so won't go newer than 2024 MDX (Maybe Acura will come to their senses later?
)
In the Chicagoland area, I can find several low mileage (<12,000 miles) 2024 MDX w/Tech package, but that doesn't include the heated steering wheel (that I miss from a previous RL) nor the remote starter w/keyfobs (than I currently have on the 2018 RDX). Dealers claim they can add these after the fact and I am assuming they can do that reliably. Valid? Also assuming that they won't throw these in for free out of the goodness of their hearts (but I WILL try that anyway
) what's fair/reasonable to pay for those 2 features as add-ons?
And generally speaking, how's the Chicagoland atmosphere for negotiating the overall price anyways - is it buyers or sellers market at the moment? The interest rates aren't great at the moment if you're not buying new. I'll listen if you have info to share ...
Thanks!

Can't help with the heated wheel but we use Acuralink for the remote start. $10. a month with annual subscription. Can remote start from anywhere, it also provides other info, tire pressure, oil % status, fuel level, range, remote lock, unlock and vehicle location. The locate feature gives us a discount on insurance in case vehicle is stolen, that savings pays for the subscription.
While I can’t speak specifically to the current Chicago buying climate, the region is certainly not lacking Acura dealership options.
I can relay that McGrath in Morton Grove and Libertyville are decent, as is Muller in Hoffman Estates. My family was a 4 time buyer at Pauly in Highland Park, but they sold recently to a slimeball outfit based outside of Miami, so I’d recommend avoiding Acura Highland Park.
Remote start can definitely be added via an upgraded fob and programming, and I have experience on the heated wheel; I bought a heated steering wheel for my mom’s MDX and had a local dealer install it some years ago. 6 years later, still heating up as it should be.

Thanks for the info/insight. I'll likely end up doing business with Mueller in Hoffman Estates. Got bad vibes at Arlington Acura in Palatine.
Have happily done past business with Joe Rizza Acura, Advantage Acura of Naperville (after a rocky start), and Airway Acura in Countryside (long since closed).

Tech doesn't have the 360 camera either. Acura's cameras are mediocre so maybe not a bid deal but mentioning it anyway, as with a bigger vehicle this can come in handy if you regularly park in tighter spaces.
Acura's packages can be head scratchers and lack options included on much cheaper cars these days.

I bought my 25 from Mullers Woodfield right before the holidays and was able to get invoice pricing which was 7k off msrp. Wait until next month right before the holidays and or before end of year and you'll get the best deal. Just make sure they have the model, color, etc ur after.
They sell mdx’s quick and don’t keep their inventory for long compared to advantage in Naperville which have a ton of inventory but their pricing must not be too negotiable.
Joe Rizza I think is by far the worst in terms of inventory, not sure about pricing. McGrath’s in westmont or Morton grove I wouldn’t recommend and have bought cars from them.

Why not consider Advance? It features a 360-degree camera, a heated steering wheel, and a remote control built in.
Not sure what your budget is, but there are some nice options out there:
Libertyville, IL has this one (@Toyota dealer) ... with curent miles and age, you can buy Acura Care and be set with it:

If you wanna consider few hundred miles outside of Chicagoland you can find some more MDXs:
