Alright im a complete noob when it comes to tires/ rim sizes all these numbers mean nothing to me. Now, my question is i have brand new tires on my type s rims, and i plan on getting the xxr 530s. I was considering getting my waffles painted black, but for the price ide rather just buy new rims. So will my tires fit on the xxr 530s?

type s wheels are 17" and the xxr 530s are 18", they won't fit

Hey guys I posted in another thread but no one answered...

I'm planning on getting gold xxr 530's 18x8.75 +20. I'm lowered with Tein street basis but have 215/45/18 tires. Should I be ok or I really need 215/40/18? thanks

45 series is thick dor those wheel specs its not gonna look right and plus you wont be able to go as low since its a taller sidewall. Go with the 215/40 if you want some stretch or 225/235 for the more factory look but definitely do 40 on the profile.

thanks for the advice guys. I just ordered gold xxr 530's 18x8.75 +33. I know it's weak lol but i'm adding 8mm spacers in rear.

I'll try out with 215/45/18 as they have pretty much the same diameter as 225/40/18 (less than 1/2 inch difference). I'll be rolling my fenders as well. will update soon.

You don't need to run 215's with those specs.

You need to run a 40-series sidewall if you get 18s. Like others have said, do 235/40/18.

I know usually people run 225/40 but I already have 215/45's on my current rims I'm kind of lazy and don't want to sell the tires and get new ones. Plus, I get a little more sidewall that never hurts. I'm pretty sure they will fit as well because I used the tire calculator and the total diameter difference is less than 0.5 inches. And my tires would be tucked in with rolled fenders. I should be fine. Will update.

small update..
received some goodies. Waiting for my muteki lug nuts to come in before I can mount the wheels. I'll install front rotors hopefully during the week and I'll repaint calipers at the same time. Don't know what color yet. Might just repaint it black.

I know a few people bought them off ebay and contacted the seller first who was able to get single drilled wheels. Only website that i know of from reading this thread is below. Which i contacted last night because they are not up on the site and was sent back "Yes but those are out of stock at this time. Give us a call if you would like us to put you on a waiting list. Thanks"
http://www.motorsportsr.com/

I have looked all over online and the cheapest I have found them is $524 shipped from
http://tirecrazy.com/product/wheel-m...CHROMIUM+BLACK

I cant wait months for the 5 Lug only because my tires are nearly bald at 1-2/32 so im just going to go ahead and order them from tirecrazy.com

The list of fun:

(4) 18x8.75 +20 Chromium black
(4) Type S Centercaps
Black tuner style lugs(spline drive) I have read how they have to be small with lack of clearance
(Front) 215/40/18 Continental ExtremeContact DWS
(Rear)225/40/18 Continental ExtremeContact DWS
-Possible 8mm rear spacer if I want a little better fitment like TLdude876

Let the shopping begin!

I don't know what it is about these, but I have never like the look of the Xxr... the spokes or the dual lug pattern or what. Something just doesn't flow well for me.

The Xxr compared to the TSW is night and day difference. The TSW is cleaner and flows well... more expensive of course, but worth it in my opinion.

Just my two cents.

To my knowledge everyone is running a Type S centercap. All you need to do is head up the retainers slightly and press it in the wheel. It should be pretty tight. Im assuming the base would work as well. The reason for the Type S is the color, which matches the wheels really close. Ive seen them in person on tldude876 car and they look fantastic! If you use your base you could get the Anthracite metallic and paint them I suppose. That color is almost a dead on match with the Type S wheels as well, alot of people use them for touch up after curb rash.

I understand that, but personally I'd rather spend a little more for the cleaner look on the TSW.

To each his own I guess. You know there are so many wheels that have this similar double 7 spoke pattern. Go look at the Forgestar F14's, those blow the TSW out of the water. I used to have a set of TSW on my 6th gen accord. I loved them, good quality as well. I think the biggest reason people like these is because they are concave, The TSW are flat and just dont have any attitude. I do like them, but these look so dam good. Who can beat the price anyways? Im payint $524 shipped! BOOM!

Just my two cents.

I feel the opposite. The TSW's look like they could be a blah oem wheel. As someone mentioned, they have no "attitude", very weak widths and offsets.

^yeah dude, I completely agree. The TSW doesnt look as good as the XXR 530 on a TL. IMO. Hence the need for a Badass thread on these wheels. I dont see a TSW thread...

Thanks bro, I'm in the same predicament with my dry rotting tires. But, for $524 you can't complain. Saving over $100 for extra holes. May jump on it. hmmmm

What kind of lug nuts are you guys using? The muteki fits but grazes the wheel where the lugs go.

post 1237 describes what i use (shown below), i searched a lot but these fit most of my needs.

titanium color blends in well, not aluminum, the key doesn't scratch, and they are all locks. only downside is that some of the paint chipped off since i was doing a lot of work taking off and on my tires for a period
