companies send their product specs to factories in China. those factories build the items according to the specs. then the companies inspect the product for flaws and perform quality control before the product goes on sale.

it's not that China builds things from shit and sells to companies.

most of wheel manufacturers have factories in China or ordered stuff from China. probably 80-90% of the wheels on the market are made in China.

.... .

I assume you've heard of Mattel? You remember "Quality" Toys, made in China. Painted with Lead.

But I do agree. Just because it's made in China doesn't mean it's crap. If the design is good, the materials are good, the manufacturing is controlled and inspected, the product will be good.

What we don't know is how good is the manufacturing? And who is keeping them honest?

I will say this tho, generally, the asian factories look at american business owners who contract them as nothing more than "stupid Americans", and treat the relationship as a strict buzsiness affair. no special handouts, or unrewarded actions. If they can get away with cutting corners, they will, especially if it means saving time and money. Its up to the buisness owner to badger them and demand certain things like quality, engineering and special features that will bring the product above the competition. Most of the time this doesn't apploy, and American businesses are just looking for the cheapest, easist way to beat their competition. Price becomes the motivation. Thats why there arre these problems with the lead in the paint, and so on, its the best for production and I'm sure it has other benefits that the asians really capitalize on. They could care less about the welfare of the children playing with them.

Haha dont get me wrong every one, i love stuff that is made from china, i just heard from some dealers etc, that Tires that were made in china were bad, and i should stick with american brands, japan, or korea brands for Tires, so i just automatically assumed it was the same for rims. ( as you can see, i dont know too much about wheels and tires, sorry )
