tpms removal?

i just had tires dismounted and I am now looking at removing the sensors from the wheels. I thought all i had to do was remove the nut on the outside, but when doing so the sensor on the inside came off the rim, and the actual stem is still in the rim. THe small screw on the inside holding the sensor is what spun loose and released the sensor.

Is there a trick to getting the actual valve stem removed?

Haven't had the Acura sensor apart, but as you stated the configuration, looks as though many are of the the same construction. Just had one yesterday, not Acura, with the same problem. Whoever installed the sensor previously crossthreaded the nut, so as it turned, I removed the sensor as the little screw came out. I then needed to take vise grips on the "bulb" under the lip, then was able to turn off the nut, but naturally, after this it was no good as ther threads were gone and the seals were shot. I had another "stem" with seal and washer so I used that on the sensor and just attached it with the little screw, then installed on wheel. If either seal is damaged you'll need to replace or the air will leak out.

Spray it with some WD40, hold with visegrips and turn off the nut. If the threads are good, just clean up the "bulb" with some emory cloth or sandpaper, replace the seals if ruined, then you'll be good to go.

anyone? I am hoping to get these removed today and I really don't want to damage them. Again, when unbolting the valve stem the small screw on the inside is what backed out removing the sensor, but I'm now stuck with the valve stem on the wheel.

Thanks. I don't believe anything is stripped...the bulb portion spins with the nut when I turn the outside nut, hence the small screw backed out of the sensor. Looking at it, i should be able to hold the bulb and remove the nut without a problem and the seal and everything should be good to use again. I just wasnt' sure if there was a trick to getting the bulb/stem out. Thanks!
