TPMS and 19's

What up everybody.

I tried to search but was unable to find the info i needed.

I just bought a set of 19's for my 07 WDP TL. I bought a new set of TPMS sensors from the dealer but they wont fit with my wheels. Is there any way of clearing the error code so there is not a light on the dash?

Thanks for your help.

i had the same issue as you i had the tire/wheel shop install the sensors with a strap on the inside barrel of the rim. they told me they do this alot cuz most new cars have these systems in them. i have no problems at all. i dont think there's a way to dissable the warning light on the dash

You can get the strap kits from discount tire direct for about $40.

Wierd... I called and asked, they have a PN for them. I think it may depend on the qulity of the tech you're dealing with. I'd call again.

I have actually called three times, the first time they had them but I didn't order them because I was going to see if somewhere local had them first or anywhere else might of had them cheaper. Then when I called back to order them they said they didn't have em and I tried one more time and got the same response.

It's not luck, it's wheel choice. 2 piece wheels are incompatible with face/stem mounted TPMS sensors as the aire valve is in the center of the barrel, not on the face like common cast wheels.

My Volk Racing GT-S's (2 piece) are enroute, clearing customs today. I plan to photograph WHY you need these bands to mount the sensors.

Yeah I am in the process of getting bands to mount my sensors and plan on taking pictures of how I'm going to mount them and everything hopefully by the end of next week I'll have them finished and on.

So with multi-piece wheels is their a clearance issue with using the TPMS sensors in place of the stems they provide or what prevents you from using the TPMS sensors in the middle of the barrel?

Explain why they wouldn't fit please? If they are new, they need to be torqued all the way down correctly to "break the seal" as I would say. If they are not torqued all the way down, they will appear to free spin and the installer will tell you they don't fit. Now if they are to big or to small for the opening then that's a different problem.

The posotion of the valve stem on my wheels made the TPMS system not fit. With the straps they fit but I got over the putting the straps on because I figured out that I would need them after I had the tires mounted so I just clear the error on the system every time I start the car.

Thanks for all of your input and support. This forum is the shit.

Don't want to hijack the thread but - Does anyone know the correct part number for the TPMS sensor for the 06 TL? I have #06421-S3V-A04 as being the correct number, but there are some folks out there selling #06421-S3V-A03 as the part. Is there a difference?
Come on Kennedy, enlighten me.

thanks

No difference. A03 used to be the PN, then it was "superceded" to A04. same part, a PN change like that usually indicates a"supplier" change...
