tires do make the difference

i don't know if this thread belongs in tires or in here, but I'll just put it in here ...

anyways, i hit a pot hole on tuesday...popped my EL42 on passenger side then i replaced it with a falken ziex 512 then i realized that my steering wheel was pulling to the left cause of the different tire on same axel so today i got driver's side on the same axel replaced with falken ziex 512 and now my ride feels so much smoother and even when i shift...and that jerk that follows along with it...it's a lot more softer...and my ride feels tighter and grips onto the road so much better than EL42's...

so people with EL42's, i suggest even if it's just replacing the front two tires of the car...might as well do that...(if you can't afford the whole set like me)...it makes a world of difference

Yea, the EL42's really suck.
When I was coming home today, there was a patch of snow and when I braked lightly the ABS activated. The slightest brake, the ABS activates.

Is it good to have two tires of one brand and the other two of other brand....even if the same kinds are on the the same end of the car?

huh? i popped my front right tire....wanted to replace it, but not with a el42 so i switched to falken, and then came online and read that it wasn't good to mix and match tires on same axel so i put another falken on front left tire..but still have el42's on my back two tires.

Falken Ziex 512's are inexpensive enough such that if you have to replace 2, you might as well stop kidding yourself considering the performance differences and go for all 4.

He's not kidding himself. He's being smart with the budget he has. No harm in burning off the stock crap on the rear axcel. Sure, Falkens all around are the way to go, but he'll get there soon enough.

What I meant was you have 2 Falkens on the front axel and 2 el42s on the rear. Is that a good thing.....to have diffrent tires?

The reason I am asking this is because I am also in the same predicament as you were. I have one blown el42 (with 50% thread depth on the rest). I donno if i should get 2 new falkens or get 2 el42 with similar thread depth.

i didn't want to waste money on getting new el42's..so i got the falken, but then i read on the forum that just having one on one axel isn't good...and when i drove..it didn't feel good..so i got the second one..

To clarify, it's fine to have different tires on different axels BUT NOT THE SAME AXEL. For example, two Falkens on the front and two Bridgestones on the back are fine. Of course this can change the lateral grip handling characteristics, but doesn't matter much in every day commuting.
