Tein Basis?

Hows it going guys? I'm thinking of purchasing the Tein street basis. I've been looking into getting a decent coilover kit for my 2008 TL. Here are the specs attached to the link below; any opinions? im just wondering if it will be lowered enough to kill the gap. I want to keep to the stock wheels for now.

Tein Basis coils will get rid of wheel gap. They lower 2.9" front and 2.6" rear.

The 3G TL lowers the car up to 3" in the F and about 2.6" in the R.

Honestly not at all, It's a little stiff if anything. Overall they ride really well and are very comfortable for being all the way down.

Are you not worried about damaging them at that low of a setting?

the tein basic are great. I have had them on my TL for almost 2 years now. They ride great and not bouncy at all. Just like 06tl4life said, they can be stiff at times. I ordered the tein basic for my girls 05 TL and received them along with all new top hats. Just waiting for the weather to brighten up a bit...So imo, you cant go wrong with the basic

Just more reasons why i need to order me a set! also just another random question.Im in the military so when i go home to visit the family i drive about 5 hours which isnt to bad, but how is the quality of the ride after adding this coilover kit and do you notice a difference in handling right away.

My ride quality didn't change that much goin from Tein s. tech/Tokico blue combo. I noticed less body roll in the turns. My only other suspension mod is a Progress rear sway bar.

Ride quality is firm but not harsh. There was a huge difference in the handling.

I dont need the adjustability....Im not tracking the car or anything. Damn sloth just wants to point out how much more superior his coils are cause they are adjustable.

I got the street advance, but that is mainly because I got a killer deal on the black market. Mine are set quite stiff, but they still ride great, much better than my S techs on stock shocks. I also have a progress RSB, and the combination makes for a great handling ride.

Invest in some spacers. 15mm on the front and 20mm rear. If you are running a wider tire (like a 245 you may need to roll rear fenders a little). Shitty pic, but it will give you an aggressive stance like this.

I got a situation and wanting to see if someone could help. I am in need of some tires. I am currently on stock 05 TL base rims. should I buy new rims and tires or buy new tires to fit my stock rims and buy coilovers? I was looking at the xxr527 18x8.75 and DWS 235/40 tires with 18s or 235/45 with stock rims. I know its kinda silly to buy new rims and not lower the vehicle but I dont want to buy new tires and then want new rims and have to buy another set.

The stock rims and lowered is growing on me, i really like it! but the XXR 527s are sexy!
