Hehe i have had these coilovers for the last 7 months and i love them, i dont think the ride is very stiff but on bad roads it can be a bit annoying. I have almost maxxed the coilovers out (3 threads left) and am still sitting on stockies, but looking to change that soon. I do highly recommend these coilovers though, the body roll decreases like crazy but there is no doubt its still there, a sway bar though should lessen that feeling. If you want a good entry level coil kit though then this is definetly the way to go, i just wish altering height didnt affect preload as there is no preload perch for this coilover as compared to some other brands.

Are you using camber kits for the TB's? and hows the tire wear been during the 7 months?

looks good! How much lower can you go? So far, how do you like the ride quality? I finally ordered me a set of teins but I decided to go with the Street Advance.

I really like it, it's like day and night difference specially the handling. I might have to raise it a lil bit in order to clear the incline of my apartment's garage. I don't have a exact number of measurement. My friend used the Tien adjusting tool's handle to set a temp height all around (basically the width of the tool's handle is how much thread I have left.)

I was only looking for height adjustment, and it's cheaper than the advance. Overall, I am very satisfied.

Thanks, it's my first set of coilovers ever too. Btw, did you max out the drop and do your alignment?

Welp, I think finding this thread has sold me on the BASIS versus the ADVANCE. I was originally thinking ADVANCE, but I tend to go for the biggest/best option whenever I purchase something. I see the option to adjust the dampening becoming a novelty I never mess with. I think the smarter choice seems to be the BASIS for a reputable, dependable, affordable option for a coilover drop.

I thought the same thing, but some people said it rode a little stiff depending on the height adjustment. For the extra $170 I ended up going with the SA just for the damper adjustment. I actually got a free t-shirt and sticker too!

The guy does price matching so I got it for $865 shipped. Figured it I was going to spend the money, I might as well spend it and not regret it. Either way, I hear Tein is the way to go no matter which one you choose. Can't wait to install them next weekend.

Actually, i will purchase 15mm and 20mm spacers, and hopefully i dont have to roll my fender. BTW, will 15mm front and 20mm back clear with this non-slammed height?

15 & 20mm spacers are the most popular for stock wheels.

I can tell you're lowered but you're not close to being "slammed" on those Teins.

I have 1/4" of threads left on the front and the rears are lowered as far as they can go.

Whenever you think your car is low, you've got to remember there is always somebody lower, and I think the term "slammed" is relative. Relative to the next guy and relative to other makes/models of cars.

Undying Dreams is likely considered slammed compared to chokin.

And I'm considered 4x4 compared to both of you

Exactly.

Being that this thread is all about the Tein Basis and Street Advance coils, I'm basing the term "slammed" on these coils alone.

Now, if we branch out and see members with F&F, Megans and ISC, we can't go anywhere near as low as them.

But, this height is perfect for me, it eliminated wheel gap and they ride excellent, no complains here.

Thanks for explaining guys. Personally, no offense, but I don't really like slammed. I really like my ride's height at this point and its handling( from driving a boat to what it is now).

I was happy with mine at first also. When we installed, every coil was dropped 1.425" from the top thread.

You could tell it was dropped but I still had wheel gap and over the course of 7 months...I'm where I'm at now.

Cool. And that's all that really matters. Like UD said, chances are you'll want to be lower later, but enjoy your labor. Looking good man. Keep it up, I mean down, err...YKWIM.

Cars look good. If anyone needs TEIN coilovers, we have them in stock for the 3G TL.

I got the HT spec 1...if I had to do it over again I would get the Tein basics. Best bang for your buck on the market imo.

I think the SA is pretty comfortable for every day driving on the recommended setting. But maybe just a tad soft. If the basis dampers are set at the same or close to it I would have no problem saving myself a couple hundred dollars and going with them.

This page shows that the spring rates match, but doesn't mention dampening.

I contacted Tein a couple months ago and they couldn't answer that question for me. Maybe someone else can try again, but I don't think I could have spelled it out any better than I did. The answer I got back seemed like a very generic response and didn't answer my question.

If I had to guess, I'd say they're somewhere in the middle or harder. I'm leaning towards harder based on some user's reviews.

Have you considered relocating to an apartment with a parking lot more conducive to a lowered car?
