RDX 19" ACCESSORY WHEEL on 5AT TL

sorry to get you guys all excited... They are indeed 245/35/19 Nitto 555.
But the issue stands. The back rubs on wavy portions of expressway (lots of that in Chicago) and sometimes even the front.
I think i'm gonna take the wheels off (first just the back) and trim the upper portion of the inner fender arch (I think I only need 5-10 mm the most). Use a metal cutting dremel saw, and polish the cut nicely.
The MT people with spacers and 245/35/19 ? Any rubbing ?

Yeah that was me
I got out and thought "Are those the RDX wheels!?" They sure were.

I'd try rolling before i do any cutting.. but thats just me. I think you can rent one of those rolling machines from any auto performance store... And it looks pretty straight forward.

I have 15 mm ichiba back and front - the front doesn't really rub-in the back I can take them off and solve it that way but then it would look weird.
Went to a body shop next to my office and they said they don't want to roll metal fenders, the paint might crease
To be honest I'm starting to regret the wheels - first no tire shop wants to install the spacers, I had to do it myself (some of the soft nuts of the spacers got rounded off, maybe 'cause I overtightened them). Secondly, the rubbing- I might end up doing that one too...
I think for people with Brembos it's just not worth it. With the $$ I spent on this project - I could have gotten properly spaced wheels

How much did you end up spending?
That's my thought as well. I wanted to get these, but after wheels, tires and spacers I'm looking at ~$1300. For that, I can find a decent set of A-specs and some lowering springs.

I've looked extensively and have not come across a deal better then these RDX wheels. I know its a little bit more of a headache for you M/T guys, but hands down this is one of the best deals out there. Especially considering the quality of these wheels. These aren't some cheap knock offs... so keep that in mind... just my

About$ 1400-1500 with spacers. Plus now whatever the rolling will cost. Autozone and O'reilly do not have or rent fender rollers.
I think A-Specs (new) plus nice tires will run closer to $2000. I will have my stocks with dedicated winter tires and the RDX with perf summer.
My other option would have been some Tirerack nonames (Elbrus) and General Exclaims - that was a $1100 set-up.
Oh well, the only way you learn is the hard way.

Well new vs. used route, your always going to find deals going used, but there is no way that you'll find a *NEW* a-specs, tires, AND springs for $1300! If you find a deal like this, you've got us all beat!

If I had a 5AT, I would have ordered these months ago. I love the wheels...just really don't want to go the spacers route.
I know I won't find new Aspecs with tires for $1300

A body shop should do this properly, but they probably dont WANT to take responsibility IF they crack. See if you cant find a trustworthy performance shop that will do it, or try other body or custom shops. You may have to sign a waiver of some sorts, saying you wont hold them liable if the paint cracks. BUT it shouldnt be an issue if done PROPERLY.
And I agree, DONT CUT THEM! or grind them down!
plus thats just asking for rust! especially in our area!
I think you can even find some places online that you can rent a fender roller but you have to give them , of course, a refundable deposit. I always feel best by DIY, BC nobodys gonna care or be as careful, as you!
GL man!

my bad, i read your question wrong!! Didn't have my morning coffee yet so forgive me.
to answer your question, no. they are not painted on inside/back. Only the outside and the inside lip. the back side is just machined. Hope that makes sense.

On the "chrome look" there is black on the inside (where the tire goes), but NOT on the backside. I suppose its what gives it the "black chrome look", like I said they arent chrome "bling bling" chrome. I posted pics SOMEWHERE in this thread

Yes sir, Tyler hit it on the nose- 245/35/19 Bridgestones. But it's funny cuz they look narrower then Tylers 235s. I guess Bridgestone tires run a little narrow.
I rub in the front and need to roll my fenders as well.

If Alex ran 20mm in the back, I think he would rub. Even though I'm running 18s, I know I would rub if I put 20mm spacers in the back.

^^^yea i thought so...cause i got 15mm on the back with the stock type s wheels...and looks like if i were to drop it(which i plan to do in the spring)looks like it might be close...then after a rear camber kit im for sure it would be super close

^You'll most likely have to roll your fenders. I'm planning on running 15mm up front and 20mm in the rear like you and I know I'll have to have mine rolled to prevent from rubbing.

In any case, roll your fenders and put the 20mm spacer in the rear. I think it'll look dope!

Tiggaman, here they are...back from the custom painter today. Im in all over again (my previous set of custom time attacks got bent). FYI tho all, these wheels pitt like crazy if you try and blast 'em. The man hours in these was rediculous for a set of wheels. Not for the faint of heart!
should colord the acura in the center, RED
looks sexy though!
#715
your fronts arent as low as mine, i got the supercup too!
#716
just added 20mm spacers in the back and moved the 15mm to front. makes a huge difference IMO.

OK.... so those of you with the chrome look RDX wheels?? Are these more of a "black chrome" finish?? I have an 04 SSM TL and I am really considering these wheels!! I can't decide on a finish?? If they are more of a "black chrome"?? I would lean that way!! However, if they are more of a bright chrome then I may go sparkle silver way!! I NEED FEEDBACK!! LOL!! and PICS would be helpfull!! I haven't seen alot of pics on this thread of the "chrome look" wheels!! THANKS!!!
