Progress RSB vs TL Acura Sway Bar Yes, No?
#121
FYI From progress group:
There are only 2 settings on your sway bar. With it set like you have currently you are loading one side of the bar more than the other. You need to pick either the soft setting or the stiffer setting.

I have 24mm rear sway bar on my acura tl-s. My question is how many setting are there 2 or 3? There are 2 holes on each side of the bar. I had previously had them set at the softest but now I have them staggered, one on the front hole and the other side on the back hole. Car definitely feels tighter. Is there actually 3 settings (like the way I have it set up---call it medium stiff) or are there only 2 on my bar?
Thanks

I just bought the TypeS rsb. I'm sure the progressive is more aggressive but i doubt i will need it even if or when i get the oem fsb , it will go fine with the oem rsb. Plus its only 35 bux so I have not lost anything if i decide i want more. Selling the typeS rsb would be easy to do as well. Ive seen other smaller rsx and accords install the TypeS RSB, So selling would be easy. But that dont matter. Im going with the typeS. Rsb because it is also a better match for my oem base tl fsb. so in the meantime i wont have a too stiff rear rsb compared to the front. Us later if i beef up the fsb then the rear oem sway bar will still go with that just fine for street use.
Long story short: the TypeS rsb will go.with the base fsb or the TypeS fsb... Later if i decide i want more rsb, then i will swap it and sell the TypeS rsb. But i doubt i will need it for street use.
Peace

Ummm, you just quoted an email directly from progress.
it tells you that there are only 2 settings and WHY.
lol, more reading comprehension is needed.
Do i have to ask if you comprehend this message?

I comprehend just fine thx.... that was my note on bottom to progress based on earlier messages on this topic-see page 1- That said there were 3 settings. I send the email asking for clarification since they make the bar.

oh, i have the reading comprehension problem.
I didnt know that's what you were doing.
I thought, you were asking again, after you gotten the email, as it looks that way.
next time preface it with, I sent an email to Progress and this is what they sent back, so it doesnt look like you're asking the question after receiving the email.
you can also use quotes to help show what you sent and what was sent back.
as its confusing when its in a big block of text.

from page one of this board.... from senior moderator... just wanted to hear direct from progress
I've had mine set to stiff/firm since install (3 years). Although I'm not sure how much the RSB setting played a role, when I tracked the car I did spin it.
The real cause was an abrupt throttle lift when I had a lot of push in a corner. What surprised me though was how fast it swapped ends - it was just gone. Not sure how much the RSB setting played a role (if much at all) in how abruptly oversteer occured, but I'd defineltly recommend more care with the throttle if you're set stiff.
I had experienced the same thing in the 2G, but it was more gradual.
FWIW - I've never had a problem on the street.
Also, you can set one side to "stiff" and the other to "soft" for a medium setting.

Bump... Good information here. Just to clear up the 6mt 3gen tl has the same rsb as the tl-s? I have an 05 6mt tl with bc coils. I wanted to reduce body roll and I know the 6mt also has a bigger fsb than auto. Hows the 6mt tl matched with the progress rsb say on soft? I want more of a neutral ride and I dont plan on upgrading the front sb.

Putting on the front Type-S sway bar and end links in a bit; ordered everything including the brackets and bushings. Then, I'm going to go for the rear stiff after having been driving on the soft setting for a few months.
