They are average perf all-season tires, but are not as sticky as other perf all-seasons I've used. They do ride quietly and softly, though--they're not all bad.

They couldn't do one basic thing that any tire should do:
Stay balanced.

Consumer Reports likes the Turanza
I will take delivery of my 2004 Navi next week and can hardly wait. Although what I read in these posts about the crappy tires on the TL is a little disconcerting, I remain optimistic. In its Nov 2003 issue, Consumer Reports (the same magazine that rated the 2004 TL "best in category") rates both the Turanza and Potenza as "excellent," in the "all season, performance" category and recommends both. I guess that would be an "8" or higher.

It's sort of like saying the TL is a great car because they rated the RL or RSX well. (I would also strongly suspect that flat-spotting in cold conditions wasn't something they would have noticed in their tests.)

Keep it coming. I plan to print all these comments out and show them to my dealer-maybe this will make it easier to convince those people at the dealership that I am not an insane person. I hope this could help others who want to get a new set of tires.
Thank you.
Thank you.

BTW I just put Michelin Hydroedges on my minivan, fabulous snow traction for an all season tire. Quiet, smooth ride and decent handling. If you have a nonsporting vehicle I strongly recommend them. They are also warrantied for 80K!

They suck in the rain. They suck really, really bad in the snow. Worst 'all-saeson' tire in the snow I've ever owned (and I'm 55). They were positively unsafe. They weren't too good when it was dry either. I replaced them out of my own pocket (with Pilot Sport A/S's) at 600 miles because they were so bad.
On second thought, 2 is probably too high.

I'd give them a 3. Absolutely the worst all season tires I have ever owned.
If you're going through all the trouble of compiling these why not also bring in the ratings from tirerack.com. Shown them how the Pilot Sports come in 3rd of about 20 Ultra High Performance All Seasons while the Bridgestone's come in 33rd our of about 40 Standard Touring All Seasons. And they cost more.

Tirerack's average rating for these tires is around 2.8, so that gives you an even less biased statistic. I suggest you print the ratings and reviews from tirerack...that was one of the weapons in my arsenal in my mission to get better tires from Acura.

7, I've had NO problems with them. They are giving me good wear and they're quiet. They give me decent traction unless I mash the throttle from a stop. But I don't think any tire would do much better.

That approach worked for me as well. My replacement Pilot Sport A/S are on order from my dealer.

Would you please stop quoting tirerack for these tires unless they are specifically for the TL. Most of the reviews on tirerack on the EL42's are for different tires. The EL42's on the TL were designed specifically for the TL. If you check the tire wear specs (140 on tirerack - 260 for the TL tires), etc, you will see that they are for different tires. Please base your reviews on the tires that are on the TL. I think I am having some flatspotting but other than that the EL42's on my TL are doing just fine.

I've had mine over 2 months with no problems. No vibration, no balancing issues. I give them a 7 overall.
Anyone know why they didn't go with the bridgestone's on the TSX? It has Michelin A/S.

Cons: Flat spotting (and not just in the cold - did it all summer for me), poor snow traction, marginal wet/dry traction.
Pros: Smooth & quiet once they were round again.

One on the right for me
3...i hate them but they were quiet on the road. didnt feel good when i hit the turns hard, whereas my potenza re750's feel solid. stupid piece of shit el42's separated on the freeway two weeks ago, i have never owned a worse tire on any of my cars although i am sure there are worse tires out there.
